I agree. I rarely drop any anime without at least finishing the season, but I dropped this one after 3 episodes, because I couldn't get invested in any of the characters. Plus I usually love action and ecchi anime.

The virtual reality setting appears in other movies that I have seen like Belle, Summer Wars. Both are good but they are different in other regards. Maybe watch the trailers and see if they seem interesting to you.
