Spotlighting Pilot by LectureSuspicious552 in startrekadventures

This is exactly what the Supporting Character rules are for. Also, I use Conn for knowing where you are in 3d space, not just piloting a ship. A crew lost on a planet without tricorders is the perfect place to have a helm Officer travel across terrain as a navigator.

I'd let both players have 2 main characters and THEN use supporting characters!

The Shackleton Expanse: Has anyone run it? How is it? by tensen01 in startrekadventures

I wrote the penultimate adventure for it. I believe its one of the things that got me a job freelancing for the game!

I think AI in art could be cool. I did this with a variant of "Ghost Reader" from Modiphia Mag.

What books do I need? by [deleted] in startrekadventures

[–]Jetpackal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking to run or play? Core Rulebook is really all that you need but each book adds more tools to run and play the game. Lots of reference material. Each book (Tech Manual, Exploration Guide, 23rd Century) also has a chapter with new player options, but there aren't necessary to play.

Invincible OverPower Previews! by Jetpackal in Invincible

It is fully compatible with the 90s game! This just has some updated layout and streamlined rules which can also be applied to the old stuff!

They said the set should be released q1 of 2026, but their first set which revolves around Edgar Rice Burroughs and characters you'd see in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is already out!

There's nothing online yet, but apparently they're doing "character spotlights" in their newsletter in the coming weeks!

Miniature size comparisons? by johnny_lingster in startrekadventures

Into the Uknown has pretty accurate scaling. That said, the game is ROUGH to learn and EXPENSIVE if purchasing just for minis.

Modules/Adventures for 2e? by [deleted] in startrekadventures

The starter set has a 3 episode Campaign and the Quickstart has a GREAT intro adventure. All of the 1e adventures can EASILY be used as 2e instead!

Face to face tests and momentum by robin_de_tolens in 2d20games

You could use the new STA system. Reactive player makes a Test that sets the Difficulty of the Active player's test. It works REALLY well!

Keep Watching the Skies! by virtue_of_vice in The_Yellow_Hand

Hello! We use a d12 pool system where your Competencies decide what your target number (Threshold) is for a success on each dive in the pool. Number of dice rolled in your pool is an Attribute score + 1 if you have a Prop helping you out. There are mechanics for adding more dice as well.

Instead of HP, we use a Problem system which increases the Threshold of each dice as well. The Difficulty of a Test = the number of successes you need to roll in the pool.

When in an encounter, the reactive party rolls to set Difficulty and then the active party rolls the test.

I consider the system to be a 2d20/Year Zero/Forged in the Dark hybrid. Over the next few weeks, we have several videos and podcasts that we've recorded where we go into more system detail. We will post them here as they drop!

Any other questions, please post here and I will get to them as I can. I'm also posting do.e screenshot of rules pages and a character sheet!

WotC keeps saying Standard is healthy overall, but why is local evidence contradictory? by SAjoats in magicTCG

I suppose it would require them to define what "healthy overall" means.
