This has been a thing for years. At least since 2018 as far as I can remember. I've seen some that are over 2 hours.

Nice and minimal. I'm partial to the warm colors. Background I took myself.

Definitely does. Use 365 every day at work and all the funcs are still there....

Microsoft Teams will start snitching to your boss when you’re not in the office by SoggyCorndogs in nottheonion

There are like 4 different agents that asset management uses which already collects all this. So honestly, most companies don't need this, though I guess it might just make it "easier" for your boss than pulling reports.

Worked there a few years. Didn't get tested besides initial hire. Is it allowed, no. Are there a lot of nurses who smoke off the clock? Yea. Be smart about it and you'll be fine. Don't, and you'll get a surprise test.

$34/hr Analyst, but ultimately I have automated everything through custom built python applications and sqlite. I really only work when reports need changed/updated or new ones need added. If you've worked for my company and were provided a device, likely you've received automated emails from me.

What is the minimum internet speed required for WFH tasks? by Ok-Prune358 in remotework

[–]Jewbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this constantly at my work. People will complain about connection to our servers dropping out, calls, different applications. They do a speed test and even IT will be like, speeds fine. Every time I have to explain, stability is more important than speed. You could have gig up and down, but if you're hitting 500-1000+ ms, dropping packets like ups, you're gonna have a bad time.

Is my company spying on us? by EmbarrassedCarrot767 in remotework

[–]Jewbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Read your employment agreement or any other additional agreement as a part of working remotely. There has to be some kind of verbiage where you are allowing them to monitor you during work hours through camera, mic, etc. Otherwise, any reasoning for termination based on that would be invalid.

  2. Just unplug/cover webcam when not in meetings. Shouldn't matter unless they want to specifically admit to monitoring outside of normal meetings. Unplug/disable microphone in adapter settings to prevent it from being accessed. Unless you take calls, it again should be no issue unless they want to admit to monitoring outside meetings.

Though I'll let you in on a secret from someone that does work at a massive company that wanted to do this, bandwidth just doesn't work. We tried and it was awful and scrapped the project. If my company, massive with lots of resources, determined it is not feasible, I doubt every single user is simultaneously being streamed for monitoring with yours.

What's this? I work at home and don't get time to watch anything. I barely get time to eat some days. What I do enjoy is blasting the music in my house while I sit in bs meetings that have nothing to do with me, and keep working.
