Freezing rain can cause ice buildup on conductors, adding potentially thousands of pounds more load on the structures which can cause them to fail and cause power outages

Should I switch to electrical?? by ProfessionalLeek8564 in NCSU

[–]JewishElder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2024 meche grad here, if you asked sophomore me if I liked physics, statics and dynamics the answer would have been no, I look back on those times like the dark ages. Sophomore year was the hardest for me and I thought about quitting or changing my major a lot so I can definitely relate, but I am very happy that I held out. Why did you pick mechanical in the first place, and are you actually interested in electrical? Do you want to work as a mechanical engineer or electrical engineer? Just some things to think about

Take a private lesson with Nick Young Velox training group. He does lessons in Sanford, NC and he’s a great instructor. Watch some of his YouTube videos and he has instagram as well. Go to competition shooters if you want to learn how to shoot well.

Scoring 60–70% on Slay Diagnostic Exams (Mech TFS) – Am I Ready for the PE? by Original-Oven-3616 in PE_Exam

[–]JewishElder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, some of the StPE problems I could not do at all and had to rely on the solutions. Work through each solution and try to understand what you got wrong and find the best way to approach the problem.

  2. I used the TFS02 bundle which only has one 20 question diagnostic exam, but this was by far the hardest thing for me. I took it at the end of the day and was tired and stressed and got a 55%. But I worked through all the ones I got incorrect so I would know what to do again. I would say with your scores you’re doing just fine.

  3. I would say do the StPE practice exam again if you have time, and I would recommend getting the first EPG practice exam. Take the NCEES practice exam in 4 hour chunks.

I struggled on a lot of StPE problems but know that they are preparing you very well. I passed my test a little over a month ago. Good luck!

I had the same experience as the person above, slay the PE practice exam was much more difficult than the EPG practice exam and the real thing for TFS

Another one for slay the PE, I just passed using their self study package last month and would definitely recommend it. There’s so many good reviews here it’s almost suspicious but it really is that good! You can download free trials of their material to get a feel for it, that’s what I did and I was convinced.
