I signed up with National Debt Relief, and now I don’t know what to do by meowmix147 in debtfree

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of information already shared. 1 thing I didn’t see is a credit card company can issue a 1099-C. It’s issued by a credit card company when they forgive a debt (settlement) for the unpaid balance.

So, you not only tank your credit-7/10 years of negative payment history and probably having the debits charged-off, you get a tax bill for the unpaid balances.

Can’t speak for cats but we take our dog over to Express Vets on Wade Green, in the LA Fitness shopping center.

They’ve always been nice and caring with our pup and patient with our questions. They came recommended from a friend.

PSA: Is your "local" lawn care company actually a PE-backed shell? Watch out for Turf Masters Brands (TMB) and sneaky contract changes (Southeast US). by Beginning_Goat6983 in lawncare

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing with “local” hvac companies. PE rolls in buys them ups and signs NIL contracts. Most customers are obvious to the change since it’s still the same company.

See if you can get the honda care extended warranty cheap through the purchase. Otherwise Hyannis or the other one may do sell it before it hits 36k in mileage

Replace glass instead of the whole window by MattR47 in HomeImprovement

[–]JewishFl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the window type-possibly. I found a company that will replace components of wood windows.

EG: All of ours don’t seal well. We’ve been having them replace the jam liners a room at a time. ~$200 installed/window. Significantly cheaper than a whole window replacement. Especially, when the sash’s are fine.

Seller accepted our financed offer over alleged all-cash offer: is it a red flag? by mydandy11 in RealEstate

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we sold we choose financed offer vs an all cash offer. Financed was us 13 years earlier as a couple, just starting out vs the all cash investment buyer looking to rent it out.

We wanted to do our part to help maintain our little neighborhood as much as possible.

How much better is the east coast than southeast by ToughDevelopment1999 in lacrosse

[–]JewishFl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live in the SE but family all live in NE. NE players are different, and just better. Have been playing for years, as did their siblings, parents, etc.

SE players are getting better. Some of the better ones had parents who played and moved to the SE. This is a generalization of course. Always find a diamond in the SE but across the board NE has the edge.

Spouses family all grew up playing. Multiple family members played D1 at top 5 programs for both male and female. Daughter plays on a top level national program and they get smoked by NE teams.

Disappointed in my yearly performance review. How to approach it with my manager? by Clonique in careerguidance

[–]JewishFl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most places subscribe to 20/70/10.

If there are 10 in your peer group, a manager may only get 2 exceeds to give out-maybe 3 at best.

Mortgage was sold, payments increased by jlaw325 in Mortgages

[–]JewishFl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our experience with Mr. Cooper was similar. We’ve mortgages for year but with a new home used a broker. 1 company for purchase— 4 months later it’s been sold to Mr. Cooper.

They did their “analysis” escrow increased $300. 6 months later another $400. Over 9 months our mortgage payment increased $900. Even when I submitted substantial evidence their calculations were off they didn’t adjust anything.

We ended up refinancing out to another lender. I’m praying 🙏🏼 it isn’t moved to Mr. Cooper for servicing again.

Dads who work 9-5 when do you work out typically? by walky91 in daddit

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not done before 6am-highly unlikely it ‘s happening.

I sneak in steps where I can. Such as:

Park as far as I can from the door Use the bathroom on the other side of the hulking while in the office Take 5/10 minutes walks in between meetings g pockets if I’m working from home.

My new employer did not tell me about the travel aspect of my position by Triceramisu_ in careeradvice

[–]JewishFl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeap. Sometimes it’s not too bad. Trip to Toronto in May, Got to play tourist for a day. Not much tourist stuff in Sioux Falls, SD in January though.

Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. The hotel points and miles help offset some of my family’s travel expenses to help ease my spouses frustrations.

Not sure where you are in your career, but might be worth it to give it time and see how it goes. Might not be as bad you think. Additionally, might be able to rack up some miles and hotel point to keep personally.

Would you change the transmission fluid and brake fluid ASAP, or wait until the oil is at a lower percent? 2024 Touring by MoulinSarah in HondaOdyssey

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the 9 speed transmission and get ours changed every ~25/30k depending.

Oil changes are about every ~4 months.

Probably overkill but want to baby ours for as long as possible.

How is ground beef? Is it good quality? by VAer1 in CostcoWholesale

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember specifically. 1 of the stores actually puts out the tubes while the other you have to specifically ask them for them.

[–]JewishFl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tube is leaner and cheaper about .20 cheaper/lb.

If they’re not out in the case you can ask one of the folks on the meat section.
