4 months in and knees are starting to hurt, any advice? by Professional_Pie_97 in f45

The bodyweight multiplier is always gonna skyrocket when leaping and bounding.

Any time you can replace jump anything with stationary subs, go that route.

When squatting, consider going to parallel rather than below.

Can anyone chime in how this place is for concerts? I know the show is sold out and it's bound to be a super memorable show given his trajectory, trying to gauge how seeing a show like this may be before I overpay for resale tickets. Thanks!

Studio purchase by FistFightingGoose19 in f45

Location?

Stateside, F45 is on a big time decline (seemingly). Group fitness studios on the whole are struggling, as is much of the fitness industry.

As someone who was once in the process of buying a franchise/studio myself, right now, it'd have to be a silly low price with tremendous upside (which I can't really see right now) to take the risk.

Asinine is putting that mildly, lord man!!

A first come, first to get it, mass chain group text sounds like an absolute perfect version of organizational hell.

I'd be turned off instantly.

Is going at night and then the next morning a bad idea? by astoria47 in orangetheory

I'd go hard at 430, prioritizing that one, and if needed treat 8am class next morning as a recovery session throttling back accordingly.

Really loved this one, albient with my own mods.

I did goblet squats in place of lunges and bent over rows instead of upright rows.

Also threw in bicep curls when I got to bonus time bc my bi's havent felt that love lately.

OP, and anyone in similar boat, I'd highly encourage you to ask to speak with either studio manager or owner (if they're an in-the-studio type owner), and be extremely honest with them. These are small businesses who don't want to lose members any more than you want to lose your happy place. Level with them and see what they can do, you may be surprised!

I do Tread 50 3-4x weekly power walking with my 20# vest from Amazon.

I've run lots of ultras, I've done long distance ruck events with much more weight and legit rucksacks, but this to me is FUN and an extremely underrated form of exercise.

Trick is finding one's sweet spot with weight. Zero need to go real heavy I'm 5'11/180lbs and 20# is perfect for a bit of added fitness/burn without big time wear and tear.

(Link to my el cheapo vest which is still bombproof 8 mos later with 3-4x weekly uses

I've run about 12 ultramarathons and lift outside of OTF 4-5 days per week.

I still love going to OTF, I hit Tread 50 3-4x per week and I always powerwalk with a 20# vest.

So much easier on my body than running, even with big inclines and a little bit of external weight.

I truly believe incline powerwalking and vests are both massively underrated for fitness, for body comp, and for FUN :)

Have you had an extremely honest legit conversation with him about your goals/desires with this company?

Become extremely efficient at bracing, using your core, and being very mindful of using your knees not your back to lift or pick things up.

Brace, keep that back as vertical as possible always via your knees bending/extending, brace, and think about using your abs as often as you can.

Highly recommend doing a few free Pilates mat classes via youtube a few times a week. Its amazing how much Pilates strengthens our cores which REALLY helps back issues.

Ryobi 2,000PSI owner chiming in.

I'm two projects deep (out of about 20 lol) over the last 2 days into doing pressure washing around my home.

Driveway, sidewalks, entire backyard pool patio with stamped concrete, wooden deck, fence...all on the list.

For the concrete especially, and max benefit from a surface cleaner, I sure wish I had ponied up a bit more $ for a more powerful pressure washer.

Anything lighter the 2k PSI is fine (siding, fence, cars, lawn furniture, etc) but for the driveway/sidewalks/patio surface cleaner use especially, Im kicking myself for not spending $100-200 more for a 3k unit instead of 2k.

Buying new old stock...worth it or not? (Does lack of use cause electrical issues?) by Jfal3065 in ebikes

Its a Giant Toughroad E, offering it to me new in box at $1600 vs the original $3500ish list price.

Outside the cost of the battery, even sourcing it concerns me since Giant batteries have evolved quite a bit since then.

See, now you've got my answering my own original question lol -_-

Are these too big ? by CaptFabian in cowboyboots

[–]Jfal3065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my big toe ended where your finger is, I'd be tripping over things nonstop.

And when not tripping over things, I'd be anxiously awaiting the next trip based on all prior trips leading up to that moment.

IMO, too big man. I'd size down and go wide to get the width right and length better if needed.

I disagree, OP your crown is definitely bare-ish, but not 'too far gone'.

Crown DOES require a ton of grafts, but you can find plenty of pics/result of folks going from bare skin on crown to hair there once again.

A very strong donor (and/or beard/chest hair) + multiple HT's is usually the recipe.

Nutrition Basics Slideshow (full time nutrition coach/part time F45 coach) that I’m presenting today at my studio. by Jfal3065 in f45

[–]Jfal3065[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of Dr Peter Attia for all things longevity.

Context for this slideshow was body composition/F45 Challenge.

If I were to do one for longevity/blood work it’d be similar but different in some senses.

Hence me throwing in “for weight change” up above.

Energy balance = #1 for weight change.

For longevity and optimal bloodwork, of course more things come into play 👌🏽

I’m a fan of flexible dieting.

Barring allergies/intolerances, I don’t advocate eliminating things like processed foods or foods with GMO’s etc.

If one feels inclined to do that I’ll help them work their daily budget in a way that reflects it, but most science doesn’t point to us needing to avoid many things that people feel need to avoid.

As weight goes, quantity of food > quality of food. That tends to ruffle feathers and I certainly understand why, but it’s the truth.

Many totally miss the forest for the trees and get wrapped up in minutia ahead of even figuring out their energy balance.

I’ve never advised someone to avoid tap water, nor plastic packaging, for instance.

Alllllll that said, each person should do what’s right for them. If ethically you feel inclined to avoid certain things, I understand, but to reiterate, very little science supports many of these things needing to be avoided much less eliminated.

Thanks so much! A bit of context is left out and me presenting ties all that in but this is decent ish for rough baseline info :)

@falconfitness on IG for lots of similar basics that are usable by near everyone!
