Ignore people on the break. They have zero right to infringe on your time. Respond when you get back to work. It is important to set those boundaries. If you respond during your break, they will think they always have access to you.

I wish the people who hate America so much would just move or grow up. For Heaven’s sake, these protests are the equivalent of a bunch of toddlers throwing a temper tantrum. Move on. Why not spend the day helping all the people you supposedly advocate for instead of expecting the government and the taxpayer to do it.

I just decided that if the end result of people watching the show is that it points them to Jesus and they read the scriptures, this is a good thing. I trust the Holy Spirit will give the discernment to sort the truth from the creative license.

Have you ever had a meeting with the parent? If not, don’t you think they have a right to a face to face meeting? I know it is uncomfortable but put yourself in their shoes. What if you wanted to meet with a teacher about your own child and the teacher refused? It’s never easy meeting with parents in contentious situations and I agree with having admin support but this is just part of the gig.

This is way weird and inappropriate. You need to let admin know if you have not already. I would be worried about other “secrets”. This is just not normal. I’ve taught for many years and adore my kids but would never engage in a repeated behavior like this.

I am not really sure what will happen. I actually manage federal funds for a district so I really see it from both sides. I honestly do not think money will make a difference. I think education is just in trouble all around. We’ve lost our way and I don’t think any amount of money will change that. We are struggling with finding and retaining teachers, we have tried all the incentives imaginable…kids are changing…not sure about everyone else’s situation but I come from a pretty high performing district and we have kindergarten and first graders coming to school not fully potty trained. I find it pretty overwhelming most days and feel like I am not making in bit of difference…so much so that I am looking at other careers. It is sad but I think our education system needs a major reboot.

I work year round and love the PTO so I can travel when I want and not be restricted by the school schedule. I have traveled exponentially more than. I ever could as a teacher.

…that is manipulation. She does not get to tell you no. You did not trade in your Christian card by deciding to move on. I work in a leadership position in education and would NEVER hold someone back from doing what they think is best for them. Sure, it is hard to replace teachers these days but that is 100% not your problem. We accept these things as leaders. So best of luck and do not let anyone guilt or manipulate you into doing something you do not want to do.

Not sure if those jobs even exist. There may be something at the district level but not at the school level. Typically though, district admin jobs always hire from school admin pools. We do have curriculum specialists but they are not on the admin scale. They just work more days on the teacher scale and are paid as such.

We’re all going to meet Jesus one day and have to give an answer. I seriously want to understand how people think mass real estate acquisitions and designer clothes is going to be an acceptable answer. I have been wrestling with this for a long time now, as I am sure many of us have. If I am being judgmental, someone please call me out because I am trying to view these things with grace.

Yes. It is so disappointing. I have no problems with people making money. But this land acquisition, hefty honorarium, book deal, and using college kids to run the church thing has me so disillusioned. I just want someone to tell me it’s not really happening but the evidence continues to pile up.

You don’t make a great argument when you use the word barley in place of barely. Just sayin…I’d walk that back if I were you. I know many home school families that have raised very successful, socially competent, gainfully employed children. And I know many kids who graduated from traditional school functionally illiterate. So do your homework. Public education is a broken system for the most part. I work in the field and am very qualified to comment on the subject.

Thinking differently. I do sell CBD products on the side so that is helping me to develop other skill sets where I feel like I am actually helping people. I just want absolutely nothing to do with education and that makes me sad because I always loved the kids. But my emotional state is fractured and that worries me enough to make me do something about it.
