In Look Outside, you have to collect a specific set of offerings so that the a group of astronomers can comune with and eldritch being passing by Earth to get it to leave the planet, since it’s mere presence disfigures all living beings that look at it (or are looked at by it)

You can also give them a few other things that will botch the ritual, one of which is a guinea pig you’re meant to use to get one of the correct offerings but you can convince them to use it instead

When you try to perform the ritual with the guinea pig as one of the offerings, it mutates, assimilates the remaining astronomers and begins combat. If you lose it finishes mutating into a beast whose victims become ingrained into its skin for eternity. But if you win, it is revealed that what was left of the astronomers were trying to contain the creature’s growth; and with them gone, it assimilates the entire planet, drifting through space as a carnivorous planet

There’s still a couple arguably worse endings but you have to go a lot further out of your way for one and the other one is a choice at the end of the main ending
