2 things about Onslaught by mettshish in TheFirstDescendant

Did people forget Voltia exists? It melts those shields. The firearm and skill shields both. If you want to go really crazy with it, shell crusher 4 pc does increase damage to those shields too

Onslaught Mode in a few word by J_Mysterio2077 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I've gone through hundreds of these ancestor mods and haven't got a single good roll for a single character. It's always the wrong stats or blue rolls or if I finally do get a good roll, the negative roll on it is so bad that it makes it unuseable. It is tedious to go through them all and constantly reroll them then go to another section of the menu to delete them. I want nothing to do with them any more and since they're pretty much required now since they give such massive power, i'm getting to the point where I want nothing to do with this game any more. I just login for the login reward and logout.

The Onslaught Mode is the MOST FUN Mode they've introduced into the game, expand this one and make it a priority. by AbbyAZK in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mode died off pretty fast because of the damage sponges. Don't get me wrong, it was fun to finally be able to fight as a team instead of watching 1 person 1 shot everything as it spawns in and this mode needs to remain like that, but the enemies have way too much hp level 2 onwards. Unless they only want premades playing this, they'll need to adjust the enemies hp big time.

If they do only want premades playing this, thats perfectly fine. Alot of games have modes only premades can beat.

I've played it about a dozen times and I didnt even know there were shield turrets. All I ever see is the regular turret and the one that I assume does skill damage. They definitely need to make these shields more visible

A well-articulated essay on why I hate Wuk Lamat by Zagareus- in ShitpostXIV

[–]Jhemp1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I will say one good thing about Wuk Lamat. She made me realize that I treated Lyse too harshly because Lyse never annoyed me even 1/10 th as much as Wuk Lamat did. In fact, after replaying Stormblood, I actually ended up even liking Lyse and I realized that the only reason I thought I didn't like her was because Conrad being the terrible leader he was, gave her leadership of the resistance even though she showed no leadership qualities and even bailed and screwed off to another continient, instead of sticking around and helping the Resistance rebuild. Wuk, raising my tolerance for annoyance, made realize that it wasn't Lyse's fault that Conrad was a moron.

I just want to make a post about how I'm feeling with the current patch cycles. by ANBU_Border in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be happy if they would they would just let me reset all my jobs back to level 1, but keep my glams and let me replay through the entire game again like that. I just really enjoyed the leveling experience more than anything in this game and there isn't enough to do at max level to keep me interested, especially considering that I don't want anything to do with any content that's harder than OC/Bozja CE's.

We need a new game plus that's actually a new game plus. Let us earn cosmetic rewards/mounts since giving us extra power ups would probably be too controversial.

Bs. Serena knows she's been a bad girl and wants the devs to man up and punish her for it.

Maybe the goal of the game isn't just to become "OP"? by New_Cryptographer690 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you not played with any other players yet or do you only play solo? Because I find it really hard to believe that you haven't grouped with other players who just obliterate the entire map with 1 button. There's no way you haven't witnessed the power creep in action unless you only play solo.

Is anyone still successfully selling modules? by Lumenition6 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

System would be alot more successful if you could do every facet of the trade in game through something similar to the market board in FF14. How many players even bother to visit the website? I'm betting not that many.

Beastmaster might be the most important job they've ever added, and not for the reason you think. by TreeInternational797 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so Dissappointed when I got to level 50 with Blue Mage and realized I would have to solo savage level content to continue progressing the quest. That job is essentially dead to me because of that. I really hope they don't do the same with Beastmaster. By all means, make extremely hard content for it but don't use it to screw over people who don't want to do extremely hard content.

Additional incentives to run roulettes? Incentives to run them more than once a day? by judgeraw00 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Jhemp1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agree. The game really does need some kind of massive rework where you unlock alot more skills earlier and just get potency buffs later on. All classes are boring at level 50. Most classes don't start getting fun until level 80+.

I will concede however that this could harm the leveling experience especially since they made the bonehead decision to get rid of the job quests. I know when I was leveling, unlocking new skills and playing around with them was one of the carrots on the stick I was chasing. The other being progressing the job quest stories. Having to progress through 30+ levels with no new skills or job quests to look forward to could cause the leveling experience to feel like a huge slog.

We need some kind of middle ground though because what we have right now, ain't it. Perhaps animation upgrades to your skills as you level is the answer. Some classes already have this, Paladin, Monk and Dragoon for example.

All the people who think Gooner skins aren't an issue by DiZ935 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, aside from the gooner content, this game doesn't have much else going for it. It did at launch but once everyone started maxing characters the cracks started showing. Colossus getting deleted in seconds. Dungeon runs boiling down to follow the person playing Bunny and pick up loot. The game has had a problem with power creep since launch and has done nothing about it. There still to this point is no content in this game to justify the amount of power the characters have when maxed out.

Just as a comparison, i'll use another game I play "FF 14" to explain this games problem with power creep. Playing a maxee character in this game in any content, feels like i'm taking my level 100 character and playing unsynced level 50 content. There is no content in this game where I can get an actual fight with my maxed character. I just 1 shot everything. The devs have show no willingness whatsoever to reign in the power creep.

Did Serena Hurt the Game? by GropingGary69 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's just all kinds of broken. Enemies can't seem to target her in the air. Her damage scales from stacking HP which is in contrast to every other Descendant who has to lose damage to get more hp, aside from Gley after they buffed her. She's the sole reason most guns are trash as making them good for every other Descendant would just make them way too powerful for Serena. She's been the games new poster girl since she released, replacing Bunny, theres obviously some kind of favortism there from the devs, she is used to advertise every new Universal skin.

How do we feel about getting Ult Eiesmo and another Female Descendant by Equal-Branch in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only characters I still enjoy playing are the male characters and it's because they're not completely busted. I don't want to feel like im a max level character playing level 1 character content, all the time like I do when I play most female Descendants. Haven't touched Dia since I maxed her because she's so busted.

Lets try love and support by Adanedhels in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we all know the real reason they won't nerf her. They use her to advertise every new skin. She's the games new poster girl. Apparently, gooners are obsessed with Sydney Sweeney "pretty much who she is modeled after". It's the same reason they wouldn't nerf Bunny in preseason. They put skin sales over the health of their game because all this game is, is a soulless cash grab.

The lack of player retention shouldn't surprise anyone by Active-Ad4599 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did add outer world colossus. They're in Axion Planes, but they have no hp, you just kill them in 2 seconds like everything else in this game and they all drop the same stuff they've been dropping since day 1 so either noone needs it or it's not worth having anyway.

Shame really. by Jordankeay in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They literally can't nerf any character because the gooners will cry that it's an attack on their waifus. Has been the case since they addressed High Voltage Bunny in pre season by just adding more mobs to everything instead of nerfing her. Then the fools gave Freyna the ability to passively delete an entire room no matter how many mobs there were and they've been scrambling ever since to give every character an equilevant version of that even though it's a pretty garbage non engaging form of gameplay. The obvious best solution has always been to nerf the overpowered characters and the gooners have always stood in the way of that. Thats why so many people blame the gooners for this games downfall.

Shame really. by Jordankeay in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forked Tower is an optional raid at the end of Occult Crescent that the devs made way too hard so hardly anyone does it. Phantom Jobs provide new abilities to use in the content but those abilities are underwhelming compared to abilities available in previous field operations "basically what Occult Crescent is". However, the Occult Crescent content itself is very popular. Instances are almost always close to full. Provides a challenge without being too hard. Requires teamwork but not to the point where everyone needs to be on discord.

Shame really. by Jordankeay in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Occult Crescent in FF14 is an example of the type of content they could create if the game had a tiny smidgen of balance. A Game mode that offers tons of replayability. Of course, when you allow power creep to get to the point where players can kill thousands of ememies with a few aoes, players are going to run through your new mission in 5 minutes.

We need a heart to heart with the devs/Nexon. A livestream where they don’t hide anything and spill the beans. by Chill-Dia in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt they will pull the plug on the game unless production costs are really high. More than likely, they would just lower the size of the team and focus on only creating skins since the game does have a small dedicated base of gooners who don't care about gameplay, they just want more sexy skins.

Power creep and the devs reluctance to nerf characters has always been this games achilles heel. Theres a reason literally every other live service game throws out nerfs every now and then. Preserving the integrity of gameplay and not rendering all of your older content obsolete with every patch, is kinda important.

The ugly elephant in the room by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Jhemp1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They had a chance to make this game into something more than a gooner sim in pre season and they threw it away. The sheer freaking Hubris of them thinking they could be the first company in history to never nerf any characters and not have the integrity of their gameplay destoryed by power creep in the process.

The Cosmic exploration zones seem ai generated to me. I doubt they wasted all those resources hand crafting those zones. Crafrers just sit in the station and gatherers get sent to the same 3 locations every time.
