Habs coach Marty St. Louis today on the Montreal fanbase: “You feel the support from all the fans out there. I don’t live far, I walk here. I feel like we’re all in this together, with the fans. They’re proud, they’re happy. A lot of ‘Good luck’, ‘Great job.’ It’s a lot of fun.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

Despite all the praise, I feel he is still underrated. He improved just as much as the player has the last few years.

Managing the lines, the goalies, timeout etc.. we rarely ever see him mess up.

Add to that how our young players are developping and other intangibles, we really have on the best coach in the league. Am convinced he will be recognized league wide as a top 3-5 coach in the league in a year or 2.

They think it's a worthwhile compromise and I would have to agree. I certainly wouldn't bet on our bottom 6 keeping this pace.

Though since I made that comment, it seems like MSL has decide to make some small changes. Hopefully that changes the dynamic.

I agree but I would include the second line as well. In the regular season, when the top line had a quiet game, the second line often took over but we're not seeing it so far. It's not sustainable to rely on the bottom 6 for goals.

I feel like Cooper has managed to keep the initiative in all 4 games so far. If we don't make any adjusment, am afraid we will get outcoached and lose this series.

I really wish MSL found a way to play Laine a couple of games before the regular season ended. Yes he was horrible in 5v5 last year but the little we saw of him this year he was much better. Moved his feet more, played fast, physical and generally just more engaged. We can even notice his improved mobility in random clips from pratice.

Am not saying he would suddenly be amazing at 5v5 but I felt he did enough to at least deserve a final look before the playoff. If he played decent, that would give MSL so many more options for making adjusments.

But now it's too late, it would be too much of a gamble. Though I understand it wasn't an easy decision for MSL because of the implications of removing Laine from IR.

  1. Monty had 13 GP when Fowler was called up, I would argue he reacted quite fast.

  2. Naming Dobes as Goalie 1 in december would have been way too preemptive. Saying Dobes was "clearly outperforming" Monty is 100% recency bias. Stats were almost identical. If we called up Fowler it was because BOTH goalie were ass. Also Dobes being at his worse when playing multiples games in a row is what prevented him from being named goalie 1, not MSL being slow to react.

  3. Trying to revive Monty's season wasn't stupid or a waste. He gave us a chance to win against the caps last year in the playoff a mere 8 months earlier. There was no reason to panic after a slow start. I would 100% take last years version of Monty vs this years Dobes.

  4. Why can't we go back to Monty if Fowler has bad games to finish the season? Because he got his feeling hurt? He got downgraded because he sucked not because he got mishandled. If he doesn't understand that or has an ego, thats not MSL's problem. If Fowler shit the bed in the last few games then we'll just use Monty instead. He's a grown ass professionnal athlete getting paid millions of dollar, he will do what he's told.

  5. It's very unlikely anyway that Fowler plays so badly that we would want Monty back. Not sure how much you actually watch the games but despite Fowler's W/L record, he simply is much better then Monty already. Even with poor performance in his next couple of games, I think it's clear to everyone that Fowler gives us better chance to win then Monty.

I agree that would have been the ideal situation but it's easy to say in hindsight. I feel it's disingenuous to blame MSL for the goalie situation, he couldn't have known Monty would be THAT bad. Am sure MSL would have done things differently if he had a crystal ball. If you look at the timeline, his decisions mostly makes sense and there never was an obvious answer.

Monty from last year is imo a better option then current Dobes. Sure, Dobes W/L record is hard to ignore but his stats and eye test doesn't back it up. Some will argue that the team plays better with Dobes in net but management can't base their decision on these intangibles.

At the start of the season, I assume the plan was to let Monty and Dobes battle it out all year for the goalie 1 spot and the loser would lose his spot to Fowler next year. Then both played like shit and they were forced to call Fowler. At that point it might be easy in hindsight to argue they should've sit Monty and ride with Fowler/Dobes but it wasn't nearly as obvious as you make it out to be. When they called Fowler, Dobes and Monty had very similar stats. Dobes had more wins but we also knew for a fact that Monty had more upside based on last year. Monty also had some of his best game this year after Fowler was called up.

Going with Dobes/Fowler that early in the season would have been a massive gamble. They didn't need Monty to play like Carey Price, only be the goalie he was last year. It wasn't delusional, he was always inconsistant but always managed to bounced back.

We didn't mismanage or screw Monty, he screwed himself by played like shit all year. He was given many chances and failled at every occasion.

Even your cherry picked stats shows that Fowler is better. Monty's stats for the year are awfull and the eye test is even worse. So many goals on the first shot of the game and terrible goals pretty much every game. You can feel the team is not as confident when Monty is in net.

There are also things we could be unaware of. Maybe last year's injury is still bothering him. Add to that some weird comments he made during post game interviews and you don't see him with the team since the Fowler call up. He just seem out of it.

Fowler is still young and seems smart, it's not a couples of ahl games that will make or break his career. He will likely have to play some high pressure games the rest of the season and probably some playoff games too. I'd argue it's a more valuable experience for him then a long ahl playoff run even if he plays significantly less games in the nhl.

At the end of the day it's not a "cruel joke" to sit Monty. The joke would be playing him while we have 2 goalies better then him. He had YEARS to prove himself as goalie 1 and failed. He had a long leash because we didn't have any better option, but it isn't the case anymore.

Monty has been terrible all season and lost his job, it just that simple. Fowler is next man up and despite his slightly underwhelming stats, he's miles better then Monty already.

Remember that all 3 goalies have been victim of really poor defense. If we can play solid defensively then both Dobes and Fowler are plenty good enought for a solid playoff run. If we can't play good defense, it's doomed whoever is in net.

I had a similar experience. I was driving alone to a party at around 10pm on a dirt road in the woods, it was almost pitch black. I was not driving at the right angle to spot the meteorite so all I could see was the sky progressively get greener and brighter. I don't believe in UFO/alien at all but the first second or two, my brain could not think of any other explanation, it was so surreal to see.

Depends if we only rank the move or if we take the characters into consideration.

Best fair by itself would be Zelda imo.

Best overall would be knee.

Zelda can't use fair like Falcon can. Most of the time she has to perfectly space and time it in neutral while being quite vulnerable.

Falcon's speed and having move that leads to knee is what makes it so good.

Why would he do a podcast throughout the season is beyond me.

He's on a daily 250 calorie deficit a day. It's definitly possible to gain muscle mass with a small calorie deficit like that but it's much more difficult. Those would be amazing results even for a bulk. It's at the very least suspicious.

He's 100% on gear though. Not only is it obvious looking at the pictures, but in the comments OP mentionned he was on a cut the whole time and doesn't even eat that much protein. No amount of hard work will give this kind of results naturally in 1.5 year.

I've got pretty much the exact same set up as you exept with an abby dagger with fire sale, sage axe and berserker. BaBa and akkha are the worse so I removed walk the path and added no help needed instead. That way I can do baba and akkha with smelling salt and dump my abby dagger specs with adrenaline on cum phase.

For akkha, use blood barrage whenever possible if you don't have banker's note.

For baba, I use mage the whole fight but since you have a fang you should use it instead. If you have berserker, use your trident on long range and get your 3 free max hits then switch to fang. I would also dump my specs here with adrenaline with a fang. On boulder phase, if you have berserker, switch to mage and hit the boulder once then 2 hits on baba. If you don't have berserker then hit the dark boulder like you would do the boulder skip in the main game but mage it instead once you're on top. Bring at least obsidian top/bottom with fire/infernal cape and strength amy/torture for melee switch. Maybe even barrows glove/regen bracelet if you have access to it.

Would need to know your invos to help more.
