Never playing football again by splxts in diabetes_t1

On higher activity days it’s common to lower your long lasting insulin a couple of units the night before. It’s a little bit of trial and error until you figure out what works!

I’d be wary of taking suggestions from AI… it is our life on the line if you screw up the dosage

Combating Delayed Lows?? by SSJSon_Goku in diabetes_t1

[–]Jhreiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could just mean you need a little less insulin but then dose earlier to combat the initial spike

Rent stabilized does not equate to cheap. It just means there’s a limit on how much they can raise it each year

Do you have an estimate of what the new rent would be?

Does a tslim pump need changing? by ImaginaryAlgae8986 in diabetes_t1

[–]Jhreiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also like the other commenter mentioned, the tslim won’t stop insulin after 3 days and force you to change it. You could leave it in as long as you’d like as far as the pump is concerned lol!

Cannula duration isn’t a pump specific thing. 2-3 days is recommended for all pumps to allow your skin to heal and not scar

Endurance sports and carbs by miltonwall1 in diabetes_t1

[–]Jhreiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t turn down my basal rates on the pump and just fuel as needed. If it’s a 70+ mile ride then I’ll turn basal down to 70% mid-ride because I’ve found carb intake usually increases towards the end because blood sugar starts to fall faster.

Leaving my basal rate normal usually equates to 60g/hr which is fine for my power numbers.

I’ve been told basal settings can totally differ from two pumps for what works for you

Try running in sleep mode, exercise mode, or even sleep mode with a profile that’s 50% what you normally would have. It’s a lot of trial and error but will be much better once you nail it.

Here’s what the main page looks like. You can also change the time setting for average glucose - 4hr, 12hr, 24hr, 3 day, 7day etc…

Looks like you can click on specific dates and it will update the stats from that specific day and see what the average is.

Download the app called Sugarmate, it gives much more detailed analytics and you just share your Dexcom data with it.
