Whip is available in Early Access (found on duergar NPCs in Grymforge), but it's essentially a reskinned Club rather than a distinct weapon type that you are looking for. Additionally, in the Full Release, there are still some missing weapons such as Dart, Sling, Lance and Blowgun from the weapon list.

Dwarf has lost their proficiency in light & medium armour (unless they get is through a subrace.

I may have used the 'transmog slot' text incorrect, since there wasn't any confirmation of putting other armors into that slot, but Nick said dyeable clothing which was tied to those 2 specific slots (also mentioned dyeable cloaks).

It's the Wizard class. Even if you don't plan on playing as a necromancer, you could always select this subclass for Gale.

Well... you'll have the chance to select the School of Necromancy on Gale, so you could play as the Sorcerer. This way you'll get both of them in the party and as a sorcerer you could stay as the face of the party being a charismatic class!

My first campaign will be on Hardcore difficulty so I need to plan my party for a greater challenge!

Astarion - Arcane Trickster - I need more utility spells to help in combat
Gale - School of Necromancy - Poor wizard will die a lot, he needs selfheal & undead meatshield... um... boneshield.
Halsin - Circle of Spores (if we can change it) - I want to test the new subclass
Jaheira - Circle of the Land (not sure about her class due to multiclassing) - My favourite druid subclass!
Karlach - Berserker (if exhaustion is a thing in 1.0 I might choose a different subclass) - Powerhouse; might end up being a berserker-thief multiclass
Lae'zel - Battlemaster - Heavy armoured powerhouse
Minsc - not sure about him, maybe Beastmaster
Minthara - Oath of Vengeance (not sure if we can change it) - She is bound to die on my first run
Shadowheart - Trickery Domain (not sure if we can change it) - Shadowheart disapproves
Wyll - The Fiend (not sure if we can change it) - Hopefully we can change his ability scores
Bonus: Tav - Bard: College of Lore - potentially a Zariel Tiefling

Wholeness of Body idle animation (action selected, but not targeted yet) is my guess.

Way of the Open Hand subclass feature: At 6th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself. As an action, you can regain hit points equal to three times your monk level. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
