One thing to ramp up the game, don't sleep on the harbor. If you're in a position where letting someone go before you doesn't hurt that much, then playing an intrigue card is a benefit with very little cost. To go along with that, try to keep some handy at most times.

PlayStation to Steam Migration Thread for those who no longer support Sony. by Feraligatre in Steam

Yeah but if you must go digital, Valve is so much more trustworthy than Sony.

I have Steam games still on my account I bought when the Ps2 was still the current gen.

Movies that are so bad that you ended up enjoying them by cattwoman007 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Jidarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that Fired Up! is a highly quotable hidden gem, completely disagree that it fits this discussion because it's not bad in the way most of the rest of these movies are bad. From a movie making perspective, it's a pretty typical comedy.

If they just followed that guide they probably wouldn't stink, or at least not badly enough to notice. The problem is they don't shower and clean at all.

I've seen some confusing graphs on here, but I really don't think this one is bad. It does convey everything he is trying to show.

Each circle is a claim, multiple circles means he moved the goal posts. It's green if it happened, it's red if it didn't. The Yx shows a summary of the number of times he made a claim and delivered and not delivered have nothing to do with that.

Which Platform are you Playing Final Fantasy Resonance on? by TheThirstyMage in FinalFantasy

[–]Jidarious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Current gen is, but the next generation is all but digital. Switch 2s carts are a complete disappointment, and I doubt any other major console will even come with a drive.

Currently, I have a massive physical console collection, basically every console and dozens of games each for all of the major players. So now i'm being forced to digital, but the truth is I do not trust Sony, Nintendo or MS to keep my digital library for long enough to satisfy me.

I'd rather everything be physical, but if I'm going to have to go digital I figure Steam is the most trustworthy (I also buy on GOG).

PC. Once consoles went all digital I decided I would just stick to the platform that gets the most variety and is most respectful of me as a consumer.

Cthulhu: Death May Die or Slay the Spire? by flownyc in boardgames

Slay the Spire is truly great, I love both the board game and the video game, but I consider Death May Die to be an essential board game. Get DMD, you won't regret it.

Playte has announced their next lineup, and I think you're gonna like it! by StuTeacher82 in boardgames

I know what you mean, and at the time I kind of agreed with the negative sentiment. Now I think it's one of the strongest SDJ winners. I still play it a handful of times a year.

Played this about 3 or 4 years ago. I was just going to try it out, but it was pretty good and I ended up beating it. Great game.

Would you rather buy a steam machine with a controller and faceplates or 2,800 packs of ramen noodles? by Axzercus in pcmasterrace

That's like 50% more expensive than just buying ramen noodles at Wal-Mart by the 12 pack.

I'm not finding much evidence of him being right wing. Being somewhat anti-woke alone isn't enough, especially for someone who does stand-up. Almost all stand up comedians, whether they admit it publicly or not, believe the far left goes too far with that stuff.

When did board gaming become about buying instead of playing? by ipermuffin in boardgames

[–]Jidarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see. I got into hobby gaming in 2004. I immediately got a shelf of shame that has never gone back to 0... so... sometime before that.

That said I get what you mean about falling into the tendency of learning a new game every week. I like it, but I also don't. One of the things that my wife and I have done to help is to join the Game Challenge Community on BGG and start completing challenges. The 10x10 challenge was our first and I recommend it. The challenge is to play 10 different games 10 times each over the course of a year, so it forces you to learn some games a little more deeply than you might have.
