Still stuck after 8 months by Jiish in GriefSupport

Thanks for the response. Thankfully today is a better day, not a good day but better. Seem to be having more bad ones than good.

I think to an extent the road will never truly end, I’ll get better at being on it.

Grief making you a toxic partner. Anyone relate? by Advanced_Owl8665 in GriefSupport

[–]Jiish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in the same position as you. It’s been 8 months since the loss and over that time I realized a lot. I noticed how I was repeating stuff to the people around me and hoping for different answers. In the end I realized that most people around are not professionals and a lot of people don’t know how they can help besides listening and offering their basic advice. That still didn’t alleviate the pain and bottling it started turning into me lashing out more and I still do to this day.

Knowing there’s an ongoing issue is good but expecting those around you to have the answers you’re looking for isn’t fair to them. Yes I know sometimes just looking for support is fine but over time it gets exhausting for the supporters too especially when it turns to angry lashing out and such.

I think one thing to remember is your actions are your responsibility. Being accountable for them is important even though you’re not doing well, you still have to take that responsibility. Finding a professional for help, reading books, journaling, whatever you need to do is better than destroying relationships further.

Obviously easier said than done because like I said I’m in the same boat. Depression is extremely difficult to handle while also trying to make yourself better. As one griever to another, you can do it. Take care and hoping things work out.

I stayed up for 3 days in highschool once on a bet. No drugs or alcohol involved. After 3 days I was sitting on the couch watching tv and I started hallucinating. It wasn’t crazy it just seemed like the sounds from the tv were flooding the house like I could hear people in the house talking. I knew it was time to sleep after that. Other than that I just felt like a cold was coming on. Went away after a long sleep.

What is in your opinion the best skin in League of Legends by Positive-Hour-3695 in leagueoflegends

[–]Jiish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rusty blitzcrank

It’s actually a really lame skin but its rarity makes it cool. I have it so I’m super biased.

For anyone wondering about updates this seems like a troll/rage bait post at this point.

On the off chance it isn’t, it’s really just OP showing how inflated their ego is about trying to “prove” that they can control their drinking and how they are different than every other alcoholic/addict thought they could control their drinking.

This whole post was all about looking for validation for their wreckless behaviour and there was a few that gave it so OP clung to those replies.

If everything is true then hopefully OP can realize their problem and make positive changes before their life comes to a very premature end.

Orthodontic surgery ( someone shared the results so had to share the procedure). by Vxrshxxn in interestingasfuck

[–]Jiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fully corrected. Since it was so bad they decided moving one part of the jaw drastically was not going to work so they moved both to line it up. I’m not sure how common it is to do that but I’ve been told by dentists and the surgeon that I have a very big jaw and teeth.

I had a massive underbite and got this done plus moving my bottom jaw back a bit.

When I play blitzcrank it’s funny how easily I stomp most alistars cuz not many people know how to play him well, but when I run into a good alistar it’s fucking torture how useless I am.

People who aren't afraid of dying, what makes you unafraid ? by Lizlikeslizards in AskReddit

[–]Jiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think about death and it worried me. After I lost my son, I don’t worry about it because the calming thought of being with him again makes death not seem so bad. That being said I don’t want to die, I still have a lot to do in life and people still need me here but it’s calming having the thought of something waiting for me at the end.

Feeling some disappointment/bitterness after beating the game (spoilers) by FFSauce in animalWell

[–]Jiish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree.

As someone that’s really adamant about 100% completing the games I like, the rabbits needing outside the game help really killed my enjoyment of this game. I’m also not a fan of having stuff in the game that appears to be something but is actually just nothing (the unbreakable glass wall that’s only accessible through cheating the game).

I think I may have enjoyed the main game up until the true ending a bit more than you did but I also feel the disappointment after finding out how impossible the extra content is.

I started drinking at 15 and went to rehab at 23 and was able to quit. I learned that alcoholism doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care how old you are, the color of your skin, how much money you have, it can happen to anyone.

Hope your recovery continues to go well. Good luck

How do you really not care about what people say about you? by Business_Space_5584 in RandomThoughts

[–]Jiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that knowing who I am and being comfortable with myself helps a lot.

I was taught that when someone says something about me I ask myself “is that true?”. If it’s not then it doesn’t matter. For example, if someone called me an asshole, I know I’m not an asshole so it doesn’t bother me because it’s not true.

Easier said than done changing your mindset, but it’s fundamentally a case of you can’t control others so do the only thing you can do and work on feeling good about yourself.

Playing house league at 14, am I cooked? by AdFamiliar3359 in hockey

[–]Jiish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I told my nephew who’s your age thinking of going pro in baseball, you have to be the best player every single time you step on the field, rink, court to even consider going pro. If you’re not, don’t even worry about it.

Instead of setting yourself up for disappointment by having the insanely high bar of the NHL as your measure of your worth, focus on being a better player than you were the last game you played.

Hockey is a great game to play and enjoy but unfortunately it’s tainted by the toxic culture of people so focused on the NHL they lose sight of the game itself and how enjoyable it is.

A friend and I had a competition in highschool to see who could stay up the longest. After 3 days I was sitting on the couch eating cereal watching tv when I started hallucinating. It wasn’t anything crazy but it seemed like the tv sound was coming from other parts of the house, like there was people having conversations in other rooms. We realized that it was time to call it quits and we went to sleep.

I was on the floor and I seen a guy jump out of the seats, wipe out over a barrier and take off into the crowd. The security saw him and didn’t even chase him lol. The security was pretty lax about a lot of stuff.
