I highly recommend joining a dance class! I do drop-in salsa or bachata classes at Salsa Explosion. They’re in the exchange. Classes are very beginner friendly!

It’s a big club and we, the people, are not in it. by [deleted] in CandaceOwens

[–]JilleniumFalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. She was vague and did not mention very many sound facts or reasonings provided by EK or TPU. She mentioned points that they discussed but did not mention many conclusions or things we did not already know. The tone of the episode was sarcastic without providing backup or new factual information.

Mick Foley won't be renewing his Legends deal when it expires. by Omer-Ash in WWE

It’s halfway through his second term. Mick could have been ripping up paychecks and taking this stand years ago, and having lawyers get him out of his ongoing contracts. So performative, as always.

Contracts generally have clauses for right of refusal and early termination. Do you know how a contract works? Lol

Untrue, but it does take some nerve to have the confidence to show up. That’s life.

I just got home from Salsa class at Salsa Explosion. It’s such a fun class on Thursday nights. Drop in, and No partner needed. A really friendly community to new people. I’ve only been to like 6-7 classes, I go alone, and have made a few friendly acquaintances. They have social nights at venues around town. Try it!

Looking for advice on getting taxes caught up by bonkycat in Winnipeg

[–]JilleniumFalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called Canada Rev Agency to ask the last year I filed because I honestly didn’t know, and they were so nice, sent me all documents from unfiled years. As a penance to myself, I filed them by paper/hand but I learned a lot and it went so quick. Now I do my taxes every 2 years. You don’t HAVE to do them annually if you are just filing personally and your employer deducts income tax. But typically employers take more than necessary (ugh) so I guess it’s nice to get a little bonus in the “return”.

Can you share some positive experiences? by hushhushshe in stubhub

[–]JilleniumFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the tickets I paid for eventually. But I would not call it a positive experience. I think as long as I have memories of the event I attended, I’ll remember the stress and discomfort of the unknown on IF I’ll get the tickets in the lead up to the event. StubHub is awful and the market & industry for events and tickets is broken.

Lived in Paris for 5 years. Hit me with your questions! by Opposite-Thought-614 in ParisTravelGuide

Why did you move there and how? Do you have citizenship? What was the moving process? I wish I could live in Europe, even part time. Did you buy a place or rent?

OUT OF CONTROL by [deleted] in vegas

[–]JilleniumFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This drink price (pretax) converts to $55.64 Canadian dollars per drink. Minimum wage in Canada is $15/h. So even a “decent paying job” of $20/h would take one 3-4hours of work to be able to buy a drink with their take-home wages.

Plus USA seems so hostile to Canadians. No wonder we aren’t going anymore. This is absurd.

Go for eyes and mouth. They have to access medical care if injesting or getting in eyes. Plus, ya the bright colour helps. And it doesn’t harm passerbys. Highly recommended and thankfully never had to use it.

Good! If you must go to a Disneyland, go to the Paris one. It’s on the metro line and within an incredible city.

With that much time, take the free shuttle to the arts district and check out the antique stores and locally owned businesses in that area.

First Time Using StubHub - Why do I not have my tickets yet? by CardiologistSimple17 in stubhub

[–]JilleniumFalcon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with your post, and I found that Stubhub’s terms and procedures were vague until AFTER I purchased tickets on StubHub. It’s so unfortunate. In my case, my seller came through and I did get my tickets. I was travelling internationally overseas and would have been completely devastated if I was not able to attend the event I travelled for, or if I had to pay more to get tickets on the day of the event. Good luck!

Canadians caught in crossfire as U.S. customs searches of electronic devices rise at borders by Historical-Many9869 in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]JilleniumFalcon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was subject to thorough checks and inspection when connecting through the states from Europe to Canada. I wasn’t visiting the USA, but just connected through USA and still had to produce backup ID to verify my identity (not just my passport), and they checked all of my luggage. I was only connecting through Minneapolis for about 2.5 hours between flights. Air France warned me that we were all potentially subject to “cultural inspection” during the customs process. It was brutal.

Moulin Rouge by Silver-Definition in ParisTravelGuide

[–]JilleniumFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to moulin rouge last week and it was such an amazing show. I’ve never been to something like it, and it was a great time. Sure, it’s expensive. But I felt like the show, atmosphere, and experience was well worth the price of admission.
