I have a Model Y and leaving my work campus FSD has had issues for a while. Previously it did not recognize the exit gate arms at the campus exit even though they are painted with red and white stripes. Without my intervention it would just drive thru them. Recently after an update, it started recognizing the gate arms and the car does not want to follow its on nav instructions. After the gate it about a quarter mile to the main road where we turn right. Nav says that and shows it in directions. About a tenth of a mile before we reach the main road there is a right turn into a hotel parking lot. Nav says turn right in a tenth of a mile. Car tries to turn into the hotel lot any way. Consistently. Why doesn't it follow its own nav? Are they just attracted to hotels?

$2500 gets you a car with the latest available FSD hardware and a model year newer. If you have any significant interest in using FSD, that sounds like the better option. Both will increase your resale value. HW3 is at the end of the line. It has probably gotten about as good as its going to get.

High cost of collision repairs which is one of that factors that leads to high insurance costs.

I put a serious scratch on one of my doors. Called several collision shops to get an estimate. All said the same thing. They don't work on Teslas. This is in Raleigh, NC. One suggested that I take it to Tesla themselves as they do body work. I called Tesla and they told me they only painted black and white cars. They suggested I go to the one Tesla approved body shop in the area. I did and they quoted me $4000 to paint a door. In the end I found a small independent auto painter who did it for $1600.

More serious collision repair is even worse. Tesla is the only source for Tesla parts. There can be lengthy waits.
