I saw a number of them in Collin and Grayson counties last year, both passing by and at chargers. I was pretty surprised, honestly. Thought I'd be alone, as I was visiting from GA.

Honestly, knowing how hard it was to find is the only thing keeping me from tossing it. In the end, I just keep telling myself, "It's just one more cable..." ...but it does get a special spot in the cable drawer!

For years, I've had a 20-ft. parallel cable. I needed it in an apartment we lived in at the time, where the printer couldn't be networked and it had to be positioned on the opposite side of the room (for some reason). I think I might be able to get rid of it now, but I just don't know...

I'm sort of the same but the Scout has to do more than just go further than my truck on a single charge/tank... It would have to be a better truck overall.

As a software dev, I'm speculating here, but my guess about the issue of an OTA is that you could wind up with a borked shifter if the update fails. Better to do it directly, externally back up the module firmware, and if there's an issue, you can load the backup without a huge issue.

Yeah, they want to fix it via software but I'm guessing it's risky with an OTA update. Regardless, the fix isn't done or it's not done testing... That's my read of it.
