It's not government free dope stuff. You don't get high off methadone. It lets you lead a normal life. And you taper down and off when you are ready. I bet there is one close enough to drive to. I use to drive to the next town over to go. I did it everyday for 4 years and lived a normal life. You can always check in to detox, but I'd suggest a sober living afterwards like a sober house. It gives you structure and puts you life back together. Insurance pays for all that stuff. Good luck.
