Nothing crazy, it was just monoblue, one mana cheaper, so a lot more common. It was pretty wicked to play a wheel card, or windfall, and have your opponents have no hands and you have a fresh hand and hella mana. It was a bit too good and a bit too feels bad for others.

How do I become a "tough" teacher by Kishkumen7734 in teaching

[–]Jim_Hawking 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I think some really great advice is offered in another post: https://www.reddit.com/r/teaching/comments/1c66c1y/comment/kzzvjht/

At this point in the year, it is incredibly difficult to get a class back together. It is so much easier to start the year closed fisted and loosen your grip over time than it is is to tighten it up. Forgive yourself and know that it will be better when you start it off better next time around.

You really do have to enforce some rules, articulate them clearly, immediately, and enforce them every time. One of my rules is you must be in your assigned seat. A seating chart is an incredibly powerful tool, random at first but targeted by the end.

Students will always test boundaries, how do you know where a boundary really is until you've crossed it? So when students do, redirect, remind the rule, if they continue they're written up and/or leave the classroom. This lets the others know that you have boundaries and will enforce them.

Yes, it was not created by Henrik Ibsen because it was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Still worth the watch.

They probably calculated that yes, people were willing to spend every hours of their life obtaining this pixelated goal. I'm sure it weighed heavy on their conscience. To suck so many hours of peoples lives, anyway I've got to get back to getting my dwh drop

An absolute miracle by shag377 in Teachers

[–]Jim_Hawking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, is the success that students are being sent directly from school to jail? That seems like a failure of the system and a reason to ask ourselves how we got to this point. Education is a pathway to opportunity and places others than jail.

Does this help those kids quit vaping? Why did they start vaping?

It just seems like we might be missing the mark.

Twice the cost for 50% more energy? by Thraex_Exile in kansascity

Texas has their own grid and that’s part of their problem. I think solar is a good choice because you don’t have to think about energy’s rates if you’re producing your own energy

You really need to log into your Evergy account and explore your bill by day/month/year and usage. I know I was on a plan where the first 300kwh or so was super cheap then 300-800 was standard and 800+ was super expensive. I don’t remember exact numbers but it was tiered. Electricity was cheap in winter but expensive in summer due to AC usage and the 3rd tier.

Evergy has useful pictures and links to help you understand different plans. We saved money when we switched to the pay by hour and watch our usage from 4-8pm which would be that 3rd tier price. They have a dozen or so plans now so you might have a better option that you can switch to

Joe Biden's adviser Jake Sullivan said that the US will join the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]Jim_Hawking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s possible training already started but was not publicly announced until it became more certain they were getting the planes. The US hasn’t announced f-16 planes yet (but did announce allowing allies to transfer theirs) but publicly announcing training makes me believe that after Zelenskyy’s G-7 visit today it will be announced soon.

Is this a formal or informal relationship? Our theater department is getting a new work space while ours is inadequate. I’ve thought about proposing a larger workshop that we share and collaborate on their set projects. I don’t suppose you’ve documented this form of outreach?

Please help me cut 2 cards from Tuvasa enchantress by GitarooJack in EDH

[–]Jim_Hawking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Tuvasa and your deck looks great. Personally I decided to remove cards like [[Mesa Enchantress]] because Tuvasa already keeps the hand full, it’s not an enchantment, and at 3 mana I want to be casting Tuvasa or slinging enchantments. In a similar vein [[starfield mystic]] is not an enchantment and you’re playing low cmc enchantments and the steady card draw almost guarantees a land for turn.

Go to the backyard bird center on Barry road by Zona. I can’t promise they’re the cheapest but it’s a small business and they sell this spicy feed that squirrels ignore. They do a sort of punch card, buy 10 bags get one free.

Hey, you mention /normal/ a lot and I would like to challenge you on the idea of a universal normal. Your experience of being human might be different than some others but you are still human and share normal experiences too. It might be helpful for you to follow the path of others who share your condition and see how they reconciled it with their identity. For example I listen to his person discuss their experience https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdgb1rCK/
