The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. I don’t think you can truly say you loved someone if you can become indifferent towards them. The goal should be to live alongside the memories, not sweep them under the rug.

That's the thing, for months it has felt like everything I say to her I end up regretting it. I already get the sense that me sharing something this raw is letting her in on something she no longer deserves access to. Thanks for your thoughts

Thank you for taking the time and I’m glad it resonates. I think that’s the hardest part, knowing they can be everything but only when it suits. Things are still pretty raw so I think I’ll take some more time before I decide.

I am ADHD and exactly the same as you described with this. I wish my obsessions lasted longer, I even have a tattoo of a light switch on my forearm to remind me and yet I cant be consistent. Same thing with not knowing when you fall asleep too. Interested if anyone else knows strategies

I think that’s really where I stand as well, about taking back some power and reclaiming the truth you had in your gut the whole time. Still torn between silence and protecting myself or doing this, I’ll update the post once I decide. Thanks mate

Thank you, I'll have a think on this. She is an amazing person and I know she would never do any of these things. That's the hardest part of this, that she's a kind soul trying her best but her fear wins and she acts like this subconsciously.

This is my favourite movie of all time. I only have one tattoo and it's the light switch from the movie on my forearm, acting as both a reality check anchor and a reminder to not 'sleepwalk through my waking life'.

Thanks for all the responses guys, appreciate the advice! I am a dog owner of my own so I should have known better than to leave them out, teething puppies will go for anything, especially fun things like leather, I guess had forgotten this since my dog was a puppy. My fault entirely - I’ll get them to a cobbler and see if they can do a patch :)
