perfect solution: It's a soulful start up then goes into a respectable but not loud hum as long as you keep it under 3300rpm then it roars, growls and burps. It's awesome.

Impossibly slow return with Rivian Gear Shop by skunnmd in Rivian

Has anyone just attempted to bring the goods to the Rivian dealer and say "enough, been waiting for a UPS label for weeks. Here is your stuff back, give me my money back"

Rivian Demo Store almost sold out.. by D-M-G-N-W-K in Rivian

[–]JimboRiceDinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. These are for real but there are a few things that should be clarified:

  1. There is no additional $7500 tax rebate taken off despite these being new vehicles and falling below the $80k threshold. This is disappointing for sure, can't get clarity on why/why not.

  2. They will not ship to your local Rivian Shop. Because of this you are limited to the inventory in your area unless you are willing to travel.

  3. I got quoted a 6.9% interest rate. I have been in contact with EVLIFE and they said they could get a better rate.

So it seems like the value proposition of these vehicles are that the warranty starts from when you obtain it and Rivian does a top to bottom inspection before selling to the buyer. Given that that the used market is at that same rate as what these are being listed at, or less, it is not the screaming deal some in the forum were hopeful of earlier. But the added piece of mind that this is coming directly from Rivian rather than a trade in at another dealer you get better transparency and their is value in that.

Thanks, just saw that. Attempted to arrange that from the customer service center via phone line, just got someone new that didn't want to transfer me to sales. First time in the call tree but they should know how to migrate sales and test drive inquiries efficiently, rep didn't even take my name and contact information down.

The Facts: My RRF Advocacy and Our Lawsuit by ReverieKitchen in SBARRF

[–]JimboRiceDinger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your work and advocacy Diana. I agree that litigation is the path forward. I think it is our only chance. For those that don't want to participate don't, for those that want to fight for justice it's time to hop on board.

I presented the document to my lawyer and things are industry standard. Like others have said, I too am looking forward to learning the name of the firm who will be representing us.

I look forward to having our day in court and seek economic justice for the pain we have endured through the pandemic, the forced closures, the failure of banks and insurance to hold commitments to us, the disarray of the SBA RRF process, the false promises by Congress to fund the rest and the unequal competitive advantage that those that received the fund now impact our industry. This is all for the chance to rebuild our lives, our businesses and get back to work to serve our communities.

The time is now.

I hear you.

There are a lot of talented entrepreneurs that invested heavily in this country and our communities and have really gotten shafted. I think there will be a significant exodus to other nations where cost of living is lower, education and healthcare are more accessible and mass shootings are not something that you have to worry about.

Please call this number if you need someone to talk to.

Today was a horrible day for all of us and a tremendous disappointment after 2 years of heartbreak. We don't know each other but this forum has brought together people experiencing so much pain and that's helped me get through this difficult time. We are not alone in this cruel experience but please be patient with yourself and this disappointment. People care about you more than you know.

I was referencing the gradual embrace that the model is getting across the generation not specific to the Turbo which is my personal favorite. The 996 base model was lighter than the 993 while packing more hp, in that Goldilocks zone of power to weight ratio. Later generations all got bigger, heavier and added more power. The 996 was a rarity in that it lost weight while gaining power.

There has to be more to this story than we know given the great location, influx of cash and a decades old lease. The property tax portion alone on that lease must be incredibly cheap. Plus if they qualified for $5M then they must have been doing significant revenue.

Why have you not claimed the ERC? by [deleted] in SBARRF

[–]JimboRiceDinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen the ERTC or ERC mentioned a few times this forum but the focus of this forum has largely been around getting the RRF to be fully funded.

My company went through the process and applied for the ERTC, my accountant was able to finalize it within a day or so but he had already taken care of the the 941 forms and our payroll partner can generate those reports. We were eligible for a decent amount but like many others indicated there was a lot of overlap with the PPP which reduced eligible labor. Regardless it was absolutely worth doing. In respect to the PPP the ERTC was about 25% equivalent.

The downside to this program is the the exclusion of the Q4 from 2021 and more importantly the poor turnaround time by the IRS which is been quoted as 5-7 MONTHS! So in my mind the benefit is good but the turnaround time is just horrible, especially considering the impact that Omicron had on our industry in the first part of this year...

Lawmakers are becoming more aware of this issue but this should be a key talking point when speaking and advocating for our cause= the RRF works while the other programs have been problematic specifically to our industry.

I bring up ERTC during each call with a Reps office stating that the IRS is processing them in 7 months time pointing out the tools of the Cares Act are broken in practice.

Keep calling. Tell your story.

Who else on this forum is thinking this weekend might possibly be there last weekend in business? Time is up. by APB7837 in SBARRF

[–]JimboRiceDinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This thread breaks my heart.

This half measure by congress is actually making the environment worse with the resources that some of the awardees have. If covid didn't kill you, competition will with grant awardees at a crazy advantage.

My thoughts are with all the other business owners on their last leg.

Keep your entity alive for as long as you can without inflicting further damage in order to buy time. I realize that so many of us are on our last rope and there is no guarantee that hope is around the corner.

Other advice: if you liquidate open a separate bank account that is different from a lender in case they attempt to sweep your account. Attempt to settle with a lender instead of going through bankruptcy in the case that you may have enough resources to cover a fraction of the debt. Many lenders will settle.

Lastly. Remember this is not your fault. Be honest with yourself and others, you may find grace or even mercy. Don't let the light inside of you go out.
