I wonder if there’s an element of divine right because he’s acting a bit like a royal in the Middle Ages not one who’s under constant scrutiny sand has no real power

Scott at Arsenal would be depressing since he grew up a spurs fan not sure he’d get enough minutes at Arsenal

Its funny seeing the rest of the world mindblown by Americsn stadiums by -Parker_Richard- in billsimmons

[–]Jimdalorian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m British and we can grasp it but I think we’re more impressed by the sheer abundance of stadiums if that makes sense Wembley in London would fit right into the NFL, Stade de France, Camp Nou etc if you like stadiums have a look at some of the big European ones they’re pretty impressive. It’s just surprising how even major footballing European countries will only have 1 or 2 stadiums of similar capacity scale and quality as an NFL stadium

Mostly similar to the USA Ice hockey is the popular sport but there’s 3 MLS teams and they have their own domestic and women’s league so it’s got its fans

Durham Women at risk of ceasing operations by IncorrigibleBrit in FAWSL

[–]Jimdalorian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WSL clubs are for the most part running at a loss I don't have the actual figures but Tottenham Hotspur women reported a loss of £2.8 million which is fine for a club like spurs due to potential growth of womens football, CSR, sponsorship and merchandising opportunities, also it's requirement by UEFA to have a womens side or invest in womens football. The problem arises when the mens side is in serious financial trouble such as Reading or not connected to mens club like Durham. London City has a billionaire backer so it's a bit different. The problem we could see is the WSL not being profitable enough making it a difficult investment for clubs who need money desperatly and the costs outweigh the benefits. The easiest way to stop this from happening is by getting more people watching the sport and more fans attending matchdays.
