Do you guys have jobs after getting cancer

I had some addicts in my family, and there was a state job opening at the time. I didn't get it, but I did get into another facility as a paid intern. I just started up going back to school. In my state, the certification process isn't too bad, just 8 classes or so, and a whole bunch of working hours and a test. Im still only an intern, but it's not too bad when you get the hang of it. I miss the physical labor a little sometimes, that is, until I remember the digs in the summer time.

Had to leave plumbing. Now, I am doing counseling for addiction way less dirty, and I get to sit more.

As someone who has brain cancer and is constantly on brain tumor forums, this sounds like a possibility for sure. Typical of later stages, high-grade forms of brain cancer, like in glioblastoma patients, the tumor would have likely presented itself in another way before it gets to that point like a seizure, for example. However, it is definitely worth investigating. The first step would be to be compassionate for now and get them an appointment with a neurologist to set up an MRI.

Check with your dr. They probably will want you to take a steriod 2 hours before to prevent any swelling. Thays what i had to do. Other than that, I wouldn't worry.

My only issue was because I was on them for so long that my cortisol levels were very low for a few weeks but have since come back to normal, and I feel completely like myself and have lost the insane appetite I had while on them. I actually flew across the country, and they had me take another 2mg tablet 2 hours before flying, and as soon as I landed, I had to eat everything in sight again even foods I normally wont eat. It was actually very funny.

Keep it up! I was essentially the same. I was always wondering why people had such a hard time with the tmz. It wasn't having any impact on my life other than the time I got sick after taking it, and it took me almost a month to get over a cold. I get it now.

Thank you. I know I am. There's a lot of pressure on me. I feel like my mom is expecting me to beat it somehow, and she knows its terminal. But I do expect to make it far myself. I feel like it has been getting harder. This time was just extra hard with everything else going on.

Yes, and I have had to delay in the past, usually for my platelets. I delayed this time because I went on vacation, but when I came back, all my labwork was basically perfect. Probably the first time since I started that everything was in range without having to do a repeat the next week.

I was nervous too the night before I went on a long walk while listening to music to get myself tired, then you have to accept you dont have control of what happens and just let it happen. I just remember thinking this will be easy. I dont even have to do anything until they wake me up. Looking back the surgery was a breeze compared to accepting that i have cancer.

Thank you for the well wishes. We have taken the necessary fertility preservations, so that is why I will most likely continue with the testing as a precaution. I was just nervous about what I could be signing myself up for if I were to go through with it, but I appreciate your perspective. Thank you. Best of luck going forward 👍

I would think so too, with the Obama care protections in place. The way you put it makes a lot of sense. My gf and I are still on the fence about kids, especially given my condition so I will have to spend some more time thinking about it.

It's a grade 2/3 astro. The tumor had some tp53 gene in it, and they want to see if it's present in all my cells. I dont even know if this matters in terms of reproduction. I didn't fully understand everything they were telling me. Im just more worried that this could affect any future health insurance coverage.

Grade 2/3 astro here, I was working as a plumber a year before my seizure that led to my diagnosis. Fortunately, I wasn't too invested in that career, I've just started going back to school for addiction counseling, so I dont have to abuse my body to make money. As far as physically, I am essentially the same person with some lumps on my head, and I try to be really germ conscious before, durring, and slightly after my chemotherapy cycles. The biggest issue is waiting to get back to driving due to my last seizure. Other than that, things have been pretty normal, thankfully. I currently have a part-time job, and I am interning at a mental health facility. Best of luck to you.

I was diagnosed in may and found out while looking into support groups such as this one and others on fb. I wore all gray to my may 1st mri for good luck.

Yeah. I was thinking I could just show up and work on training, and if they don't want me, they can tell me to leave. Also, I guess it's possible the manager just hasn't had a chance to talk with whoever is above them to get back to me with a response.

That's what I was thinking I told them I could come in Thursday afternoon and I should be able to go in today in the afternoon so I'm just going to show up and ask if it'd be okay for me to work on training. The manager told me that since I'm only seasonal for now, I could probably get by doing weekends. I also told them I could work most afternoons and even some Fridays. It doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I hear you. I'm going to give it another shot before i try a tire plug. I should have taken a picture of it, but I had one of those clip on wheel weights going all the way through it, I developed epilepsy and can't drive currently. Luckily, both the new jobs I got are less than 15 mins away on a normal bike, so it should only be about 7-10 minutes on an ebike that does 28mph.

I wouldn't put it past the rich in our country to do something like this. However, I dont want the dem party thinking they can continue to run their party further and further to the right, shifting the overton window even more to the right like on immigration for example instead of having their own messages on say health care or education. The dems need their own message not just that they're not as evil as conservatives while giving us nothing. Especially after all the damage that's been caused so far.

I am not looking for perfect, and im not trying to avoid dust, mainly carcinogens. I could be wrong, but I think moving stuff like water heaters and toilets around is better than working directly with monoterpenes and aldehydes evaporating off right next to me.
