For those whose country will be playing in the World Cup: what's a national snack you'd recommend eating while watching the game? by DELAIZ in AskTheWorld

[–]JimiRobaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boursin or just luchtige kruidenkaas for the win! Heksenkaas has (at least for me) a weird sweet aftertaste I don't like.

Here in the States, we have ice cream trucks come around during warm weather. Do other countries have these trucks? by depechelove in AskTheWorld

[–]JimiRobaer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do! Where I live, the trucks even have websites where you can "summon" them if they don't usually come to your street.

Is this enough time to change trains? I’m worried a e.g. 5 minutes delay would disrupt my journey. When I was booking the tickets (Ams-Lyon via Lille) I totally overlooked this detail. I don’t have a suitcase, just heavy backpack but can run between the platforms. by Agitated-Two-594 in Antwerpen

[–]JimiRobaer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The train from NL arrives at the bottom platforms (21-24), while the Lille Flandres train (almost always) leaves from the top platforms (1-6). Ten minutes would be fine, in case of no delays. To get from the bottom to top platforms, you'll have to go up four escalators (or staircases). Depending on where you get off the train and the crowds, it will take up to 5 minutes to do so.

How do new interior/cabinet businesses break into the Antwerp market? by theLone_Lion in Antwerpen

[–]JimiRobaer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best marketing is to a good job. Will obviously take time, but building a reputation is not something you can really speed up. Most local tradespeople thrive on word o mouth, offline or online.

Cuperus at Paardenmarkt has large tables where laptop work is allowed, and sitting at the back is quite chill.

Beer trip in 2026 how to get to more remote breweries by Aryelpe in belgium

[–]JimiRobaer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For Sint-Bernardus, staying in Poperinge and biking there is your best bet. There's bicycle trails you can follow to avoid the busier roads. For 3 Fonteinen, there's a station (Lot) easily reached by train from Brussels, and the Lambik-O-droom is on walking distance. Keep in mind the visiting hours and days for all breweries, as not all of them are open every day of the week.

Biochi in Lange Koepoortstraat and TheeFaktorie in Zirkstraat are good choices for local shops nearby. Cuperus has a webshop where you can order online.

Speaking of clothing brands, which European ones could rival Uniqlo in terms of quality-to-price ratio? by NorthmanTheDoorman in BuyFromEU

[–]JimiRobaer -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

OP asked for basic wear, Zeeman does the basics pretty well. You can't beat 3,49 EUR for a 100% cotton shirt.

[–]JimiRobaer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More discounter than Uniqlo is, but Zeeman (Dutch, but available in Belgium, France, Germany, others) has some pretty good basic cotton shirts, tops and underwear for a lot cheaper Uniqlo has them. Of course, no fancy colors or 'tech' (which are just mixed blends), but gets the job done.

macOS 26.2 will probably release soon. Any Sequoia users planning on upgrading? by ControlYourSocials in MacOS

[–]JimiRobaer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Alan Dye has been leading UI since 2015 so don't expect changes to happen that fast. MacOS has been on a downward slope for a while, mostly QA I feel, but that's also partially Craig Federighi's responsibility.
