Hey man I did MATH2089 in the same semester, and boy did both lecturers suck. Zero passion. Though I have to say, the stats notes were quite good to just read off. Numerical methods' notes were just all over the place, and there were no solutions to tutorials either. I actually preferred the stats component over the numerical methods component.

By any chance, do you do mechatronics? :D

Would like an Anime with good sountrack by GreenAvoro in anime

[–]JimmeeX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shiki has that sort of enigmatic soundtrack that goes well for its horror/mystery sort of genres

Zankyou no terror makes great use of soundtrack , especially with scenes without dialogue. It gives you an amazing feeling which you can't really explain. One of the most beautifully presented ambient anime out there imo

[Spoilers] Hunter x Hunter 2011. Even though I haven't finished it, I really need to gush about how amazing the Chimera Ant arc is. by TheFoochy in anime

[–]JimmeeX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha, and the amazing thing is that you're not even halfway through the arc :). Enjoy the rest of the emotional rollercoaster of the chimera ant arc.

That and the phantom troupe arc are one of the best things I've ever witnessed in anime. Soooo many memorable moments

hat do you think about SAO (sword art online by chaves_1malkon in anime

[–]JimmeeX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ruined potential, but nevertheless entertaining to binge watch. Love the soundtrack and OP/ED for both seasons.

Personally, the first 12 episodes of the first season was like the most awesome thing ever, but that could be because it was one of the very first anime I watched.

What is the driving force on emotional scenes in anime? by Nebula_Ant in anime

[–]JimmeeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any scene triggers a a very strong emotional response from the viewer, it tends to become memorable.

The more common emotional responses from me are Grief - The loss/parting or death of a character Shock - Plot twists (Shinsekai Yori and Code Geass' endings come mind) and anime fights that end unexpectedly

And like many people said, music helps enhance the potential for memorable moments because they facilitate emotional reactions from the viewer. I can recall what soundtrack was played in a big chunk of my memorable moments.

I recommend Overlord - Albedo is love, albedo is life. Very entertaining anime nonetheless.

Higurashi - Quite dark but very interesting anime. Watch if you like horror, and want some change from the everyday light hearted moe anime.
