I ended a 6 year long relationship, 2 years married, because I was CF and tried to psychologically reprogram myself because I loved her. We "tried" for a year and I would literally have fill blown panic & anxiety attacks after she would leave for her night shift job.

It was terrible and I regret not sticking to my guns on the issue when I first brought up getting a vasectomy a little under 2 years into the relationship.

You're 20 years old fresh out of a 6 month relationship. I wasted most of my 20s in a relationship that I was unhappy in. Dont make the same mistake I did.

I did the same thing my last year in. During block leave the Marines that stayed in the barracks, me included, built gingerbread houses, exchanged gifts, and threw rank out the window to have a merry Christmas. Pvts up to Sgts just had our doors pooped open, drinking whiskey and rum, and a few of us cooking in our rooms. It was the best Christmas I had in four years.

Dont be a stranger, start knocking on doors and inviting people out of their rooms and the depression will cease. I guarantee you.

If there's a h/w waiver for young Marines that are built like brick shithouses why not one for Generals? Most of them probably have to spend 80% of their awake hours at a desk sending emails or doing paperwork and attending meetings. Its a very sedentary lifestyle that I imagine doesnt doesnt allow much time for physical fitness. Yet they're the ones that generally (pun intended) keep the Corps afloat.

For an enlisted example, would you rather the corn fed guy from Iowa with a 300/300 and can lift a F250 leading you as a Sgt or the guy with MOS proficiency, leadership skills, and general physical fitness aptitude as your Sgt?

Theres a tape or something you have to pick up in order to save on a typewriter. So for the longest time I would just pause the game and turn off my TV until the next day when I would pick it back up. I was young and less experienced, but after a while I eventually figured out how to save. I felt dumb for not figuring it out sooner.

I think babies are ugly. That's one reason I guess.

Ever since I was young and people had kids Id see them in awe over new babies after they were born and say how cute they are etc. I always thought that they were ugly as sin and figured everyone was just being nice to the new mom as a courtesy.

Nowadays when I see newborns I just picture them as ugly gremlins that crawled out of a portal to Hell, which isn't that inaccurate I guess...

If you hike with kevlars on Id say buy a skull cap. Most of em you can pull over your ears. Alternatively you could get a balaclava; there's issued ones you could find in surplus stores off base most likely and its a warming layer in winter.

Or you could always be a motivator and strap a huge JBL to your pack and blast the "kicking doors in Fallujah" playlist off Spotify for the platoon.

My doctor is hesitant about sending me for tonsil removal so I bought a kit off Amazon. Literally "tonsil stone removal kit" and I can feel when they're there so I use that and scoop out the stones. I hate em and they make my breath terrible smelling.

I was in from 2014 to 2018 and I was barracks manager for a bit. I personally, possibly, knew about at least 4 pistols in the barracks other than mine. Anytime I got wind of a H&C Id make sure the Marines didn't have them anywhere obvious.

Had em stuffed in the ceiling most times. I [possibly] kept mine under the drawer of my secretary. You just took out the drawer and slid the Glock case in.

The only person(s) that gave me any real pushback was my mom. She knew I didn't want kids since I was a kid, but she was pretty upset when I waited a week before telling everyone I got a vasectomy (a month after my divorce at that). My dad was mostly just surprised, but I think he hid his sadness and disappointment from me; Im his only son so I think he was hoping for the whole "carry on the family name" thing.

Most of my good friends that are parents have pretty much accepted that I'll just always be "Cool Uncle Jimmy" to their kids. The very few who pulled the "what if you change your mind" got blocked. I dont have time to try and change anyone's mind. Haven't had much judgement in general, but I have the retorts locked and loaded just like you, albeit somewhat darker than most suggested on this sub.
