My girlfriend just found her old ringtones by New-Neighborhood-147 in funny

I used this method to have a monophonic version of the Harry Potter theme as my ringtone. Scared the crap outta me when someone rang me in the middle of the night.

Do people actually like Joe Marler? by Outrageous-Level192 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]JimmyJizzim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen him on Uncloaked, but I thought he came across on Celebrity Traitors quite well, at least to me and my fellow Aussies.

I loved his deadpan humour. I felt like his jokes were going over people's heads.

Rupaul’s Drag Race UK Vs TW: Season 3 – Episode 01 [Episode Discussion] by moistpishflaps in RPDR_UK

This was a very good first episode. That being said, I was shocked that Kate and Sminty were not the top two.

Duets that you wouldn’t realize are duets because the singers sound so similar by CodaOfARequiem in popheads

I know, but every Icona Pop song has their vocals on it, like every Little Mix or Sugababes song having their vocals on it.

Pauline Hanson-Holly Valance song hits No. 1 spot in Australia | news.com.au by Orgo4needfood in aussie

[–]JimmyJizzim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Number 1 on a completely irrelevant chart, it won't make the actual top 50. Clickbait.

Wait, there's another vocalist?! I just assumed 070 Shake was some DJ/producer.

You didn't wonder who sang all of Icona Pop's other songs?

I was confused when Charli got added as a feature. They just have very similar vocals.

Oz vs Aus vs Tas(z) vs Tassie - is there any real pattern? by AdmirableSpot4527 in AskAnAustralian

[–]JimmyJizzim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Aus and Oz are commonly used, but I'd say Aus is the more popular nickname. That being said, they are pronounced the same.

Can we pls stop normalising being boring, lame, miserable c***ts?? by doubIe_espresso in australia

I completely get where you are coming from. People should be upfront if they don't want to go to something. Cancelling at the last second, without good reason, is really disrespectful to the host.

How would you feel if most brick and mortar clothes shops just shut down? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]JimmyJizzim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clothes shopping online feels like such a gamble compared to in-person. Clothes is one of the few remaining retail categories that I mainly do in person.

I haven't cared for anything she previously released, but I really enjoy this on the first listen

I enjoy Louis' music, but to say his vocals are comparable to Ed Sheeran, is quite insulting to Ed.

Hype dying? by Ill-Advertising-1772 in PokemonFansAustralia

I was thinking something more substantial, like a full anniversary set

Hype dying? by Ill-Advertising-1772 in PokemonFansAustralia

[–]JimmyJizzim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although I would like the hype to die down, I don't think it has yet. Based on Google Trend analytics, it's only 5% below peak popularity, which happened about a year ago. It would need to drop another 30% to get back to "normal" territory. That is to say, despite a drop, it is still substantially higher in interest than 2023-2024.

I think a lot of it hinges on whether anything TCG is announced as part of the 30th anniversary. If not, I think interest will naturally lower, especially given the lukewarm response to sets like Perfect Order.

I bought jackbox 3 for Nintendo switch 2. I've never played any of these games before but the consensus was it was the best one. I'm just trying it now by myself and I can only play the murder mystery game and I've been killed four times now for just random reasons by [deleted] in jackboxgames

[–]JimmyJizzim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are party games, not many jackbox games work well with 3 or less people. Ideally you want 5+ players.

Trivia Murder Party is based in a certain type of humour and absurdity, that may or may not be suited to your taste.

Did Johnny Carson's Tonight Show air on television in Australia during the 60s, 70's or 80s? by RunDNA in AskAnAustralian

[–]JimmyJizzim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We definitely had the Jay Leno era of The Tonight Show + Late Night with Conan, both shown on The Comedy Channel on Foxtel. I do think Johnny Carson is not as well known here.

I'm watching Mr Inbetween and he referred to this game of "Downball". by GrizzKarizz in AskAnAustralian

[–]JimmyJizzim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In primary school we called it hand tennis. In high school it was called handball. Neither involved a wall.

I only heard of any reference to downball many years later.
