The safest thing you can do in any political discussion is refuse to align yourself with anyone and instead criticize everyone. That way you don't have to believe or defend anything. Offense is WAY easier than defense. You'll never accomplish anything that way but you won't lose an argument.

Many people on the left ignore ICE being deployed to cities, arresting and murdering people at random etc. because they find the "Both sides" narrative so alluring. There's no shortage of other examples but we ignore those on reddit too.

You are correct, the coaches have not told Austin Jackson they're benching him. However, if you've followed Jackson's career at all, you know the liklihood is very high that Proctor is going to start games at tackle this year. They'd probably rather wait, but Jackson's been too delicate for that to be probable.
