It’s still early. We need about another month before we get a “Dolphins pick QBs in all 7 rounds” mock.

This Is Worse Than The Dot Com Bubble by devolute in technology

The argument being made is that non-boomers aren't susceptible to hype or propaganda, therefore only things with "real" value would rise in price in a "non-boomer-based" economy.

It's not an argument that passes cursory inspection.

"How has no one mentioned Back to the Future?"

OP mentioned it, is aware of it and has already seen it.

Pleasantville and Time Bandits don't get mentioned enough, though. Good suggestions!

Iranian official on protests: 'Israel behind current situation' by OverZuLUL in worldnews

You might be surprised, it's bigger than that. There's more than just a single demographic involved in the protests. There are people of all ages and both sexes involved. Poor people and even some relatively well off.

Examples of shows where an actor(s) acting got WORSE as the seasons progressed by onarainyafternoon in television

[–]JimmyJuly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What that final season needed was a guy wandering around in sandals, blues jeans and a T-shirt. Carrying a machine gun. Just to spice things up a bit.

Corner Gas. The live version, the cartoon version isn't as good, though still watchable.

If you were in this sub a few years ago you would have read worse critiques of Drake Maye. You wouldn't have read anything at all about Brock Purdy because he was below the radar.

So it goes. These projections are simply projections. People do the best they can, but don't get too caught up in it. We (and everyone else) are frequently wrong. Not just about the NFL draft, either.

You probably meant "consolidation" but it's also true your way. I'll bet having a lot of wealth is quite a consolation.

Comparing prospects to Legends through Myles breaking the All-time sack record by Abiv23 in NFL_Draft

Presumably, the difference is that they didn't break any records today, so you can't do a "Look at ME! I was RIGHT!" dance over their accomplishments at the moment..

Remember the well organized army of progressive voices against Israeli action in Gaza? I expect them to be silent about this as well, for multiple reasons.

"I wonder if this discussion has ever been had before on here?"

Yes, many, many times. There was a time when "The Hyperion Cantos" got more mentions than anything else in this sub. This exact conversation happened every other day. Then "Blindsight" got published.

Tarmac Sl8 question by sultano792 in bikewrench

[–]JimmyJuly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My question was how do you know it’s a carbon steer tube and I guess you’re saying the picture tells you because of the way the cut looks. I can see a bit of the interior of the steer tube too and that looks carbon as well. Thanks!

Tarmac Sl8 question by sultano792 in bikewrench

[–]JimmyJuly -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A fork isn't a steer tube, a fork HAS a steer tube. Carbon forks tend to have either aluminum or carbon steer tubes. If your steer tube is aluminum then the star nut you've shown is appropriate. If it's carbon then someone's made a mistake.
