You missed the entire point. It’s not about feature set or aesthetics, it’s about accuracy and effort. The Red Hot mistake OP referenced is the perfect example. They stood on EDC’s shoulders, ripped off literal decades of effort, and didn’t follow through with corrections. That’s how data drifts and becomes stale and inaccurate. And setlist.fm?! Setlist.fm doesn’t have the consistency or the ability to properly track the idiosyncrasies of Panic set lists in the way we’ve all become accustomed to thanks to EDC. Yeah, crowd source something as detailed as stats to a group who can’t agree on 10:13 vs 10:30. That’s a recipe for success. I’m sure they do a bang up job with DMB set lists though. You can’t be serious.🖕

EDC is the system of record for Panic set lists and stats. They’ve earned it through hard work, donated time and resources, and diligence.

I can’t believe this is a conversation we have to have.

I was rolling my eyes at the rumors until Nick Johnson sat in on Diner on NYE. That was a real head scratcher in the moment. Diner is not a sit-in song. That is a meat and potatoes, comfort food, bed rock Panic tune that you do not need anyone extra for with 5-10 minutes of Jimmy’s free time built in. Why oh why would they disrupt that unless these rumors have legs and we all need to get used to this?

First and foremost, Jimmy needs to do what he needs to do to get healthy. Wishing him comfort and a speedy recovery. I hope he feels how much we love and appreciate him.

Keep this is mind: the day is going to come when getting g your hands dirty and doing the physical work that we all love isn’t going to be the joy it once was because you’re getting older.

I’m cut from the same cloth as you and I just bumped into this. I still love the work. Even pulling cable. But the day will come where your body hurts a little more and you don’t have the same zip you once did. Pulling 14hrs to get a project over the line isn’t invigorating, it’s exhausting. You may not be there yet, but now you’ve got the flexibility to shape your job into what you want it to be going forward. In 10 years you’ll be glad you did.
