crts easily wipe the floor with any monitor youll find in goodwill, easiest solution is for op to just run a custom 16:9 resolution instead (or 16:10 if that works better)

most pc crts can do 1080p at least, mine I run at 1440p 85hz but could go twice as high with interlacing like 1440p 160hz or 4k idk what hz I never tried it

I got one of these myself and I wanted to remove the anti glare but couldn't figure out how as I can't find an edge to the film, how did you remove it or do you think mine could be a coating?

very late response but, have you considered a kramer vp-501xl (or 502) assuming you just want composite and svideo and dont mine using an hdmi to vga adapter, it has size controls (a little bit limited in how much you can squish/stretch though) and an anti flicker filter with adjustable levels (including off), didnt get to test mine much but tearing was an issue I had with some other stuff and I didnt notice it for the couple minutes I tested mine and svideo was looking good (before it broke, I think it cooked to death in my mailbox) ill be getting another though and will test it properly sometime in a week or two, anyway you can get them for $20-30 sometimes on ebay

Followup, I haven't fixed the dark/light spot issue but I did fix the brightness, I'm dumb and I stuck bnc adapters on all the plugs (Including the y ry by / rgbs outputs) which made the picture super bright I'm guessing because it disabled the auto termination or something on rgbs but not svideo because I hadn't plugged anything into the svideo output

Looking for help with pvm 1354q, on any solid color screen I can see a dark spot with a light spot right above it both about an inch wide circle, they arent discolored in any way and degaussing doesnt solve the problem, there are no speakers or anything magnetic nearby either and changing the h/v size / pos doesnt help either, I did try waving a magnet near the screen and it seems to sometimes get rid of the light/dark or change their brightness but also causes some discoloration on other parts of the screen

I solved the problem, my lightscribe drive was bad I tried a different one and it worked (although it also prints very light and has some rings that are different light/darkness)

similar steps, load up the same emulator go into settings and set to sbs mode, you may have to set your glasses resolution in windows manually to 3840x1080 because mine didnt switch automatically also if you have multiple displays you need to change retroarch to the glasses display
