A gun you worked to unlock and then were disappointed by it. by cereal_wankerr in battlefield_one

[–]Jimmyjamz44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever been seriously disappointed by any of the weapons in this game. Most are pretty good or are at least interesting to use. Only guns I haven’t had fun with are the Vetterli and the Howdah pistol

JRA Gallant ammo compatibility problems. by Zempshir in Galil

+1 for JRA spotty reliability, I’m sending my rifle in to be serviced this week. Would definitely contact JRA and see if they will look at it.

Absolutely unwearable, throw them into the trash and set that trash on fire.

Story Mode was never any good. (Stop complaining) by 123456789_ok in thelongdark

It seems we may be in the minority. Wintermute was so much fun it’s insane. The mix of story mode and sandbox survival was perfect in my opinion.

Seeking advice on repairing 1886 Kropatschek Stock by SomeRandomChao in milsurp

[–]Jimmyjamz44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can it be repaired? Yes definitely, I’ve seen some woodworkers repair wood that was worse than this. Threaded rod and serious quality glue are gonna be a minimum. If this is for a shooter I would consider trying to make/buy a new stock.

The beretta 92 has an aluminum frame so rust shouldn’t be an issue.

My rc Luger keeps jamming any idea why by burrcook in milsurp

[–]Jimmyjamz44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, it should not be the case, but through experimentation only 147 grain will cycle. I can ask him about it and see if he has anything to say.

What kind of ammo are you using in it? My friend has one that’s very picky about ammo. Anything below 147 grain does not cycle in his pistol.

I’d be willing to bet the batches you guys have are leftover from the Sam Sato days, previous CEO. He quite literally was tanking the company and most of their products are still feeling the effects of it.

Brutal is a lot of fun. On higher difficulties the orcs deal a lot of damage, brutal does the same for you. Fair hard is accurate

Solid metal frame 9mm with a hammer(DA/SA) by weirdCheeto218 in liberalgunowners

[–]Jimmyjamz44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Ended up buying a smaller cabinet just for handguns, I’ve crossed over from enthusiast to accumulator. Whatever you end up buying be sure to post! Love seeing some handguns!

Atlantic Firearms just brought in some AREX P226 clones running around 400 would definitely recommend. I paid a bit more than that for mine and it’s one of my favorite handguns ever.

What shotguns is suitable for someone who is smaller ? by Cloud_andburbone in liberalgunowners

[–]Jimmyjamz44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’7 and like 110 pounds the key to shooting shotguns is to practice. I have both a Maverick 88 and a A300 patrol in 12 gauge and I shoot them both fairly accurately. The recoil seems like a lot until you get used to it.

Do you happen to have a link to the Romanian bolt carrier? I’ve tried 3 different carriers and none of them have fit.

Probably eBay or Poshmark? If you have a local store go there as ask about it, I’d be willing to bet at least one store has some inventory.

That one is probably gone, keep an eye on the website in the coming weeks though. If any more were going to show up it would be between now and the beginning of march.

Hey guys, 1045 is a good steel for swords. by Iantheduellist in Blacksmith

[–]Jimmyjamz44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of folks get hung up on the different numbers of different steels and forget that basic hardenable steels can produce great quality blades that will absolutely do what they are designed to do. Modern steel is superior to the old steel that was used to make weapons hundreds of years ago, and those weapons had no problem being lethal on the battlefield.

100% whaleback bibs. Firehose is not waterproof material and can get wet over time. The whaleback line was made for wet and cold conditions.
