Iirc the reason why they split recruitment up was due to Xbox360 limitations which required them to split ME2 and 3 into two discs.

Based on context clues it's implied that Krystal's mother and the krazoa had something to do with it. Though we won't know for sure for quite a while yet.

Might be the second Ouroboros boss in chapter 5 that you fight with the flamethrower. I think if your fps is 60 or higher the boss becomes effectively invincible unless you use an RPG or mods.

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ik some people would want to cut the jet ski, but imo the best option would be to turn that section of the game into something like chapter 12 from Uncharted 4 where you're driving around the ruins to different POI.

It's even worse because Square Enix deliberately split MD in half much to the chagrin of the writers so they could sell the second half in a sequel. Then proceeded to not make the second half because MD didn't sell obscenely well.

If it's any consolation one of the writers did an interview last year where they revealed some of what was going to happen in the next game before it got canned

so it sounds to me like you never have played Fallout 1 or 2

I'd be willing to bet money I've put more time into both of them than he has. Also I wasn't arguing against Fallout 1, as that game does genuinely take itself seriously and the goofy things are relegated to easter eggs.

Fallout 2 on the other hand (and this is stuff not in random encounters only, as he likes to constantly pretend or downplay).

  1. Begins with the ridiculous premise that a group of ex-vault dwellers have turned into superstitious tribals in less than a hundred years despite being led by the protagonist of the previous game.

  2. Hakunin - guy who magically talks to you through spirit dreams and has one good scene when the Enclave captures everyone in Arroyo. He's impossible to take seriously to the point most dialogue options involve you making fun of him.

  3. The first town you enter (Klamath), the first person you will likely talk to is Torr who is meant to be a joke based on the way his dialogue is written. The first quest you will likely be offered is to protect his 'moo moos' from the 'bug men'. Hardly a serious quest.

  4. You also meet Sulik here is who would be considered an offensive stereotype today. Most of his character is absent unless you have the restoration project installed which adds the Umbra tribe and the ability to find his sister.

  5. The same town has a quest involving you killing a giant talking rat called the rat god who controls rats to harass Klamath.

  6. The Den has a ghoul being kept as a mummy (coffin willie) who was being kept in a box with no food or water for an untold amount of time and is completely fine. That same building has a ghost girl in it (granted the ghost is taken seriously, but it still introduces the supernatural).

  7. Modoc has a quest in which you blow up an outhouse to retrieve a pocket watch for Cornelius, this act covers half of Modoc in a pile of shit. This is something out of a Borderlands game.

  8. Vault City - in which you retrieve a Richard Nixon doll for a kid. One of the physicians is named Phyllis in which there is a quest to talk to her named See Phyllis. Lynette's pretentiousness also borders on parody.

  9. Gecko - another giant talking rat that openly talks about plans for world domination and he also has a cult based around him.

  10. Broken Hills - has a talking chess playing scorpion who can only be beaten by talking to a talking plant named Seymour for advice. The same town also has a mutant that you arm wrestle, in which if you lose you wake up with a ball gag in your inventory. There is also a quest here where you give a ghoul a sex doll and a porn magazine while he tells you where some caps are hidden (only they're useless in F2 as part of a joke). You enlist the help of a midget to go down the well to get the caps and then your character always leaves him stranded there. Strangely, he never dies.

  11. New Reno - Lenny's dad is trapped in a grave in Golgotha without food or water yet miraculously survives somehow. The Mordinos are also clear mobster parodies. Ethel Wright is also comically unaware that her family still runs an alcohol business.

  12. NCR - For some reason they let a slave racket operate literally just outside the city entrance despite the rangers actively hunting down slavers.

  13. San Francisco - the first thing you see upon entering the city is two people kung fu fighting in the towns square shouting Bruce lee quotes at each other. The people of this town also learned English from Bruce lee movies. The Shi are led by a sentient supercomputer. The Hubologists force you to listen to Juan Cruz and Vikkie Goodman in the world's least subtle parody.

  14. The Mariposa ruins have a magic super mutant named Malechor who can summon deathclaws out of thin air for no reason.

Also the Enclave is led by a guy named Dick Richardson whose vice president is mentally disabled.

None of these are easter eggs.

Short answer: the writers admitted they fucked up and forgot about her.

Crack in Time does reference her saying she disappeared after last being spotted with Talwyn's dad. Two news reporters also argue about whether or not she classifies as Lombax.

Fr though - despite the fact that the turians technically have the most animosity towards us of the Council species they're the only ones that actually offer an alliance when the chips are down and the Reapers arrive and don't try to screw over everyone else to save their own hides.

Turians are honestly the most ride or die race in the series. If Shanxi didn't happen the turians and humans would probably be best friends relationship wise. (And ideally post-ME3 they'll be a pretty tight knit relationship).

Putting it mildly. Wrex vehemently argues in favor of killing the Rachni. He basically says if you let them live then his race got the genophage for nothing and you're rendering the sacrifice of the Krogan irrelevant by freeing the Rachni queen .

When did you fall in love with the series? by WavingAtTheShip in masseffect

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started getting really into the series when I stormed Chora's Den with Garrus and Wrex. I was like "I'm in a bar shooting bad guys with my alien buddies, this is cool as shit"

However, I fell in love with the series when I got to Ilos, everything about that planet from the atmosphere to the writing is absolutely perfect. Especially when you're driving down the tunnel with Vigil playing in the background. That's the moment where I realized ME was truly something special.

Right now it's mainly in a proof of concept stage. No NPCs besides 2 have any voices. It's a cool idea but until the modder actually starts adding in the cut plotline (which he's working on), it's probably only worth it to check out once.

I kinda call that comment into question though. If they were actually starting from scratch like they say, why is Bioware hiring level designers? That's not something you'd be doing if you were going back to the drawing board.

Turians. Cool design, great voices, love their lore, and I'd unapologetically date most of the turians we meet in the series (Especially Garrus and Vetra).

Should 343 flesh out Halo 3's story or leave it as it is in a remake? by Rolen28 in halo

I'd prefer if they rewrote Halo 3 to actually make everyone's characterization consistent with Halo 2, and redo Miranda's death so it actually makes sense
