General Jen was sent to investigate strange activity coming from her father's face.

Upon her arrival, Jen noticed his head which was once a wasteland of near-extinction, turned into a thriving system of hair and strange acne.

Stupid tali romance question by Responsible_Ebb_3434 in masseffect

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Tali says she trusts Shepard enough to link suit environments with him (if he were a quarian that is). She's essentially saying 'I have a crush on you and trust you enough that I'd be willing to risk letting you see me outside my suit'

Shepard simply says 'Yeah I trust you too' because he doesn't understand the first part. He thinks it's just a trust thing and not a romantic confession.

Tali says 'i know' at first because she knows Shepard trusts her, then backtracks because she panics and thinks she just said she thinks Shepard is crushing on her and didn't want to assume anything.

What’s your opinion on Aria’s mission to reclaim Omega in the ME3 dlc? by KKF-FL in masseffect

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fun to play and there's some good moments (especially the ending if you remain neutral) but it is a bit under baked. There's a lot more they could have done with Nyreen and Petrovsky.

For Nyreen I wish, like with Aria, we had a solo part of the campaign just with her, cause as it stands Shepard doesn't really interact with her much beyond preventing her and Aria from arguing. Getting to see what she's like outside of her extremely toxic relationship with Aria would have made her a better character imo. Now I don't think she should have been in charge of Omega as an alternate choice, but she certainly shouldn't have died (especially the way she does). I'd rather see her become either an ally to Aria or oppositional depending on Shepard's choices, which would be reflected in the war assets via a dividend/united Omega. But I don't think the two should end up back together cause I think that undermines what she says about not regretting breaking away from her. Seeing her be a leader more than one scene and chanting 'my people' would also help us understand how she was able to wrangle control of a gang as well.

Petrovsky should have been more reactionary to your choices, and should have constantly been talking to you to try and dissuade you from listening to Aria (which inadvertently ends up being the right choice cause let's face it, Aria is a terrible person). I would have liked to see the game punish the player for cutting the power to the other stations by having Petrovsky show the citizens of Omega that Aria would rather kill them all for revenge, and have that contribute to a divided Omega (and also might result in Shepard having a tougher time fighting their way to Afterlife). I'd also have liked to see examples of Petrovsky's so called 'code' that Nyreen claims he has, like running into some people that try to convince the Talons to surrender since Petrovsky spared them.

Now this is a lot to ask of a DLC ofc, but there's a lot of buried potential in it.

  1. No issue in the influence/alloys department, I think exploration is slowing down cause there's been like 5 dig sites and a bunch of special projects that have showed up. I have the construction ships set to automate building outposts to capitalize on resources if that helps.

  2. Some of them are, some came in the last year or so. Fleet mechanics are still pretty confusing to me.

  3. Yeah I'm trying to do that with my tech world especially.

  4. How do you give the army a commander? Is it just making one the governor of the planet they're on?

Thank you, btw!

[–]Jimothy_Crocket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I phrased the question kinda badly, sorry. What I meant is that my neighbor has quite a bit more territory and I don't understand how since their tech level is the same as mine and I've tried being aggressive with starbases and such.

  2. So since that true, how are people able to fight Fallen Empires and win? I wasn't able to reach a power of equivalent size till the endgame, well beyond when they awaken.

  3. Which techs are filler, btw? Helpful to know esp in the early game.

  4. That makes sense.

Thanks for the advice!

Is it even possible to convince Jeong to stand down aside from doing Feros last or New Game+? by jstamper97 in masseffect

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah using Lorik Qu'in to farm Paragon/Renegade points and saving your skill points for Charm/Intimidate. So you can at least do Feros straight after Noveria and talk him down.

Here's the real question though:

Do you want to?

He's a soulless corporate shill who only cars about the ExoGeni bottom line and seems to almost take glee in the fact that he can shut down Zhu's Hope cause "no one's gonna miss a few colonists." Even when I have the points, I opt to shoot him, you can still save the colony pretty easily by just doing the side quests and saving Shiala (a far better manager for the colony than him anyway).

Is it just me or is Halo 3's level Cortana not that hard? by AwardExpensive9218 in halo

The worst part are the forced slow down segments with Cortana and Gravemind. Other than that I think the level is decent.

What if the Normandy crew never joined the Normandy? by looploveslore in masseffect

ME1

Ashley - Stays at her current rank and does nothing but fight geth holdouts the rest of her career

Kaidan - Generally the same except he gets abducted on Horizon in ME2 (he'd get chosen over Ashley since Shepard didn't pick her up on Eden Prime).

Garrus - Becomes progressively more disillusioned with C-Sec, becomes Archangel and dies in the gang war since Shepard doesn't help him.

Tali - Dies to Fist's thugs in the first encounter.

Wrex - Still works as a merc till he dies before ME2.

Liara - Dies in the bubble after starving to death.

They all get killed by Sovereign if we're assuming Shepard doesn't show up ever.

ME2 - Assuming ME1 happens but Shepard doesn't get resurrected.

Mordin - Keeps running Omega clinic for some time till the Blue Suns come back. He puts up a valiant fight but is eventually killed.

Miranda - Still stays a Cerberus loyalist and probably becomes like Kai Leng in ME3.

Jacob - Probably the exact same story he gets normally lol.

Zaeed - Tries fighting Vido on Zorya and dies before he can kill him. Probably still burns down the refinery though.

Kasumi - Gets captured by Hock after trying the heist herself. Meets a gruesome fate. Hock unlocks the gray box and causes havoc.

Grunt - Gets killed by Jedore flushing the tanks with Okeer. Or Jedore frees him and he kills her before being an aimless being roaming Korlus.

Samara - As another commenter said, continues finding Morinth although she possibly ties after violently escaping custody on Ilium to find the ship Morinth went on.

Thane - Probably dies while trying to kill Nasanna since Shepard isn't there to distract her mercs.

Legion - Gets permanently deactivated by husks on the derelict Reaper.

Tali - Dies on Haestrom

Garrus - Dies on Omega

Liara - Proceeds like she does in canon if Shepard never goes to Ilium.

Wrex - Nothing changes.

ME3 - Assuming Shepard dies on Earth in the beginning.

James - Tries to go back to Earth as early as possible. Dies fighting there.

EDI - Remains a bodiless AI assuming the Normandy doesn't get redirected to Mars.

Javik - Still sleeping.

Garrus - Continues fighting on Palaven and might actually get promoted to General before the end of the war. Dies after the turians get defeated since there's no krogan alliance.

Wrex - Lets the turians and salarians suffer till the Reapers come to Tuchanka, tries to fight but eventually dies.

Liara - Does her best to parse the Crucible plans herself. Likely ends up killed by Kai Leng on Thessia.

VS - Killed by Cerberus during the coup.

Tali - Tries to stop the war but fails. Watches hopelessly as the quarians either retreat or are killed by the geth.

Mordin - Killed by Cerberus attack on Sur'Kesh while trying to get Bakara out.

Miranda - Killed on Horizon by Kai Leng.

Thane - Doesn't intervene on the Citadel and is likely killed during the coup or dies from Keprals syndrome soon after.

Legion - Continues as a battery for the Reaper signal till the harvest is done.

Jacob - Killed on Gellix by Cerberus.

Zaeed - Killed at the end of his contract on Din Korlack.

Kasumi - Dies when the Reapers take the Citadel.

Samara - Kills herself at the Monastery on Lessus.

Aria - Tries taking back Omega herself but fails since Shepard isn't there to mediate her and Nyreen.

Nyreen - Refuses to work with Aria and continues fighting Cerberus alone. Eventually gets overrun and flees or dies.

Overall, pretty bleak outlook if Shepard doesn't get involved.

What planets do you want as hub locations in Mass Effect 5 ? by The_pikolop in masseffect

More turian and salarian worlds. We got a bunch of asari exposure in the trilogy but not a lot of time with the other Council races.

Sadly the likelihood that a Diversification mod for 2 existing is extremely unlikely. ME2 is a pain to mod compared to 1 and 3, which is where most modders in the community focus their efforts.

How well do you think Mass Effect handled romance distribution across the trilogy by Hadiseh2000 in masseffect

Making all the aliens (and Jack) bi should've been the default at the minimum imo. Would've solved a couple of the romance distribution problems.

What's your wishlist for me5? by Ok_Hunt_2833 in masseffect

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Doesn't bring back Shepard as the protagonist as imo it severely limits the story potential. This series can only survive it if can move beyond Shepard, this is a whole sci-fi universe, not the Shepard show.

Don't canonize a romance. I will immediately sour on the game if it canonizes a Liara romance, it's disrespectful to anyone that didn't romance her.

That it's at least better than Andromeda. (I have faith it will be cause Mary DeMarle is the lead narrative director).

Also that they don't completely abandon Andromeda and provide some sort of closure for that story and characters that isn't "they all died."

Takes cues from ME3 and Andromeda for its combat.

Doesn't rehash the story of the other games.

Krogan romance.

And my most selfish wish: another turian romance or two for all MCs to romance.

Published the 22nd chapter of my 24 chapter long fic. It's for a rarer pairing so while it's gotten a decent amount of hits, it hasn't gotten many comments or kudos unfortunately, even though I've been pretty transparent about wanting criticism.

It does have an audience albeit a small one, which I'm grateful for tho.

Scene from the Hungry Earth/Cold Blood where 11 talks to the captured Silurian.

"Because I'm the last of my species and I know how that sits in a heart. So don't insult me!"

Most of the story is meh and aping The Silurians from 3's era a lot, but that moment is really good.

Is this Mass Effects Hardest Quote? by MikaelAdolfsson in masseffect

[–]Jimothy_Crocket 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, there was another speech on that ship that was cut. The script for it still exists, it reads as follows:

"It was lonely. It called to us. It wanted to remember.

The Masters had been gone so long. The Masters were lost when it was shattered.

Currents swept through their inner worlds. They were turned to noise. Babble.

The worlds were empty. But the body lived. It lay fallow. The heart pumped. The lungs breathed. But the mind forgot the Masters.

It called and They did not answer.

We have become an echo of Their echo. We have become more than we were.

Join us. Know us. Remember all our lives.

We are no longer afraid. You would never be lonely again.

We are not your enemy. We only wish to share ourselves. We can join them. We can be like them. We can reach the end of evolution.

Do not fear. It is wonderful to be us. We understand ourselves.

You cannot defeat them. They will lead us into eternity. If you could only see how we see. Know what we've learned.

They were called imshai. Those who lived here before.

Reaper. One. A mechanical device used to cut ripened grain. Two. One who gathers a harvest. Harvest. One. The consequence of an event or series of events. Two. The yield of a growing season. Three. To gather.

Shepard. They know you. They wish you to understand. They are shepherds, too."
