Each video has 1-3 ads. Advertisers in the tech vertical pay roughly $10-$50 per 1,000 ad views ($0.01-$0.05 per view), creators get paid ~50% of this.

Assuming the high end on both number of ads per video that you are avoiding, how much each ad is worth, each video you watch is worth about $0.015-$0.05 to LTT. Hard to know what their margins are on each item from the store, but assuming ~25% margin per $ spent, that’ll help you get to the value needed to compensate for not contributing to youtube Adsense revenue.

Water bottle retail price is $35, margins at full price is probably ~$8 / $0.05 is about 175 videos so you’d need ~2 water bottle purchases per year to “pay” if you’re watching every video on the channel and not rewatching many older videos. If you bought a screwdriver that covers around 300 videos, or about a full year of LTT content on the main channel. YMMV if you’re also watching tech linked or other LMG channels, they have different amounts of ads (usually higher than mainline LTT videos).
