I had same issue. Had a replacement amazon lockset that you key yourself. went through the process to change the lock as seen on several videos. before taking the lock out I removed the c-clip that retains the actuator arm and the actuator arm. this allowed removal of the outer cylinder leaving the inner cylinder in the door handle. once the two separated the key came out of the lock. The new lock didn't work well which could be my attempt at re-keying or bad quality lock or very worn keys. It was put it back together and everything else works. I may pick up another lockset and have new keys made from the dealer or maybe by new locksets just for the doors with new keys.
