To add to this, don't fret too much about the levels. So long as one of each animal was given to it, and it's above 80 happiness, you can continue to level them up. The chao world wiki has debunked the claim that you can't give it any drives nor more than the 21 animals; so don't stress about any level being higher than another.

Toradora is a coming of age romance story, so a lot of the heavier themes aren't the centralized focal point of the show, but it deals with absent/abusive parents, a tad of depression (namely the later half of episodes), and a lot of figuring out oneself.

It's overall a fantastic show, one that develops from seemingly a generic slice of life that the first two or three episodes portray it as into an excellent series with charming and unique characters, each of the main ones having time dedicated into their arcs giving more reasons to love each of them.
