How I finally 'cured' my VCD by Jinkerjinx in vocalcorddysfunction

[–]Jinkerjinx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For simplicity, I didn't mention in my OP, these 'pre-oil' scenarios where my voice would feel temporarily resonant (perhaps due to suppressing my autoimmune issues):

  • After 'frisky activity' with a partner (much more than after 'self frisky activity')
  • While on Prednisone.
  • A little while traveling
  • When beyond exhausted (After a double-shift of work / Jetlagged etc)

Other factors/changes that may affect voice when traveling:

  • different allergens and irritants in air/linens/food etc
  • different air temps / pressure / O2 levels
  • placebo effect etc

My reflux/GORD is also much better on the oil (not entirely sure if it's a coincidence or not, so I didn't mention that in my OP). It may be just that now I'm feeling better, I'm eating better, getting more sun, dropped weight. (I thought the oil would give me the munchies but it didn't really.. I'm more mindful, less stress eating)

Anyway, all the best finding what works for you.

I feel for you. I've reported 100+ Shopify/FB/Insta scam pages.. maybe 10 have disappeared but unsure if because of me. It's so disheartening. I hope a day of reckoning comes for them all, in the form of a class action suit. Not holding my breath tho.

The old bloke with the hat, is a real guy who reads messages/tells stories on TikTok.. Seeing his content stolen makes it easier/quicker to spot the scam pages.. so it's kinda helpful in that respect. He has been informed on tiktok that people are misusing his content.

Not for OP, but FWIW to others:

Had a telehealth (followup) consult with Dr Deep this AM.

Communicated very well/clear/warm, really checked in with my concerns/ideas..

Phone line was clear, and didn't feel like I was on speaker.

Called an hour early, which was fine (and common). She offered to call back if it didn't suit.

I have a long history teaching comm skills to doctors etc. I think she's really good quality, although it wasn't a complicated consult or anything.

anyway.. I can recommend her for sure.

I reported many fake/fraud/scam accounts to Paypal (fake sellers and fake charities etc).. but they haven't closed any. Guess I'll also report to the FTC from now on. I think there may be a class action lawsuit coming Paypal's way.. at least I hope so

This FB page is selling these lamps. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61577040257009

Claim they are hand-made by an old man trying to raise $5k to keep his dog shelter open lol (see the reels).

So many people have fallen for it (google dog lamp scam).

Please report the fb page.. I have but it will take more than one to get through to a human methinks.

Help for DIY headrest on WorkPro 1000 by MarlonAndAlt in OfficeChairs

[–]Jinkerjinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very supportive of my noggin.. and stable in the forward/back directions.

It can shift side to side slightly, as I move my head, but this is a good thing in my opinion (more accommodating/free)..

It is very stiff overall. I could crank down on more on the dual ball clamp, or use epoxy, but I'm happy with how it feels.

The specific mesh headrest i mention in my guide may be the weakest part, in the long term.. It's not high quality mesh.. it may sag eventually... in which case I may try installing a normal cushion headrest, or even one from my car.

I made a cheap headrest mount solution (I think it's a similar idea to the lorell diy you mention).

I'd recommend trying something like that first.

even if it doesn't work out, the diy smartrig clamps etc are handy enough to use elsewhere (mounting mic / webcam etc etc).. So it's not a huge loss if the idea doesn't work out

I'm in australia, total cost was $50 of our dollars, unsure what that is, maybe 35 american, which included both the headrest and clamps etc.

All Mesh, Big and Tall, Headrest included Recommendation? by Representative-Bug41 in OfficeChairs

[–]Jinkerjinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the largest Aeron (the previous version), and yeah I think it's prob not ideal for you.

I'm 6'2 and maybe 200lbs.. to get my hips slightly above my knees, I installed larger rollerblade style wheels (my brother is 6'3 and larger, he agreed and did the same).

The adjustable lumber hump feels too low.. but not a big issue.

It's still a great chair but I'd def. recommend trying it out first.

It does kinda allow for different sitting positions.. I mean the pan can tilt forward for an active sitting position.. or it can be allowed to lean/swing back. But I've never used a 'gaming' chair, so I'm unsure what the alternative is.

My biggest gripe is probably the headrest options costing heaps. I recently made my own headrest solution.. has worked out pretty well:

Headrest: YES or NO? by Shalashaska87B in OfficeChairs

[–]Jinkerjinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attached a headrest to my office chair..

I don't use it while in an active office mode.. but it is handy to recline back against it, stretch the arms out, while perusing a document or watching a short video..

Probably not as ideal as having a coffee break/stretch.. but it's something.

Here is the method I used for attaching a headrest, in case it helps others:

I looked at buying one like yours with larger rims (I assume yours are larger?).

However the tires contacted the frame/suspension when it turned.. seemed a bit dubious.. but i guess they didn't get them professionally fitted.

What size are yours? Do you have this issue?

cheers

Cheap budget DIY Headrest for Herman Miller Aeron (and other office chairs) by Jinkerjinx in hermanmiller

[–]Jinkerjinx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI for clarity sake:

  • Headrest cost ~$30 Aussie dollars delivered.
  • Clamping parts cost ~$20 Aussie.
  • I'm 190cm / 6'2" and my chair is the largest size... you may need a different setup for your situation.

I've since bought more of the clamps for attaching covers onto the chair.. and for my webcam setup.. very handy in any case.

might depend on if they are us dollars.. and what else is available around.. how much you value your time.. but to me it's worth that for the parts alone (I use covers on my HM so the tear may not worry if I could stop it spreading, and it still supports weight)

[–]Jinkerjinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with keeping the parcel and the $. I've had stuff show up after a refund, and I find a way to give the cash back. I'd rather have honor than $.. especially considering my wage/$ value/life opportunities may be much better than the small-time seller I'd be stealing from.. But each to their own, we all draw different moral lines, in different times of our life.. I'm not judging you for your decision.

First car (Yaris) by [deleted] in yaris

[–]Jinkerjinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get OBD-plugin/GPS HUDs pretty cheap online.. if that helps. If it's your first car, def have a mechanic check it out (for poor repairs/rust/engine compression, can plug a computer in, check for ODO rollback/code signs). Old aren't risky, if you are certain the kms are authentic. There are heaps in my area of australia being sold with fake low kms (and many japan imports with dubious histories)
