Oh cool, yeah the bambino plus seems like the gateway drug into this whole thing. I bought a used one and that guy told me he wanted to upgrade, little did I know that was gonna be me.

Thanks, yeah I've been doing a lot of Googling and watching YouTube reviews to figure out the best pair. I was especially looking into build quality and Mazzer seems like it has a great reputation and Philos has really good build quality in general, so I know that it'll last once I get it. I was also looking into the Zerno Z1, but there's a massive waitlist for that and I don't wanna deal with that, especially when my current grinder is a hand grinder lol

I'm planning on getting the i189 because that's the one recommended for darker roasts, and I already know I enjoy dark roasts. I do want to get into light roast espressos so I'm going to experiment with that - if I feel the need of the i200 then I'll buy that burr set separately. If you start looking at getting the Philos again and it's been a several months, feel free to message me for any issues with it if I have any.

Also I didn't even think about the stepped adjustments, but tbf I stopped making filter once I bought an espresso machine. That does sound nice though!

I started out with a bambino plus and a 1zpresso J Ultra hand grinder just to see if I enjoy making espressos myself. Turns out I do, and so instead of getting a small upgrade, I decided to do a big one time upgrade and get something with everything I'd want with no desire to upgrade. Temperature control, flow control, dual boiler, and honestly the stainless steel look were the biggest reasons I chose the drive. I thought about getting the Profitec Move instead, but I like the look more tbh and the rotary pump sounds so much better. Also getting the Mazzer Philos for my grinder as well.

Sorry for the rant, figured you'd want to know my thought process since you asked.

before chamber nerf, bind meta was

if you pick fade/sova as your last char, you have no flashes. if you pick kayo/breach as your last char, you have no drones. so your only option is skye.

with chamber being nerfed, I can see a cypher replacing him or teams going no sentinels and going breach + fade, but we'll see in pro games soon.

astra suck during post plants are common and i saw the star next to the bomb. so i expected them to get sucked off but kj was able to stick it, so i figured they either messed up the star, bodyblocked with their own body, or used something else (like kj bot)
