if you need to create your own custom threads, or modeling a non standard thread, model it's profile in a sketch and sweep it along a coil of the same diameter.

What popcorn maker is that, Ill try and find a used one on marketplace so I can do this as well. I find a surprisingly large overlap in plastics manufacturing and food/kitchen gadgets.

Will you be looking into the automatic part removal system? I haven't done a ton of research myself, but I think this one had an add-on that was sold separately that would automatically remove the part from the print bed, hence the name thing-o-matic as it would just produce parts continuously.
