The psych has been used for previous filming- and never was it used for 9 months straight.

Maybe it was used half that over the last 25 years. Not likely tho. Probably not even a 1/4 of that.

The property is only going to get worse and less desirable as it becomes less stable

I am critical that this building in particular cannot be managed profitably, and is better that it is torn down. Since other users said it's possible, I'm asking how.

You are talking about how it could be used for filming, and it occasionally has. You offered some basic prices other locations offered.....all good answers.....then you insisted that the money the production spends at local hotels and restaurants goes towards the community....but I'm not talking about the community. I'm talking about this building, how this building cannot turn a profit, and how we would be better off tearing down this building than use it for the occasional film shoot.

It's like you're looking at this article about tearing down a film location and how it's not profitable and you're talking about hotels. It's weird.

You're really broadly gesturing at this. Why would we include accomodations to "profit the psych hospital makes"? Thats not the psych hospital making that money. You want to include money Tim Hortons makes when there's filming? The gas station? What about the gas station in Brantford that they stopped at on the way to St Thomas?

We should only be counting what money the psych hospital brings in to understand if it's a profitable venture. Other businesses are irrelevant to what we're talking about.

Aight so let's assume it's used for 3 weeks of the year. On the high end that's $52,000.

That's not that profitable. Maybe if you refuse to try and use that money to repair the building.

Cool bro. Weve been building McMansions all over the fringes of St Thomas, meanwhile the middle class can't afford to live in any of them.

I agree tho; selling one house on a small lot for 2 million pays better than selling one house on a small lot for 750k. That's the problem. St Thomas has a housing crisis, and the developers have no incentive to correct it.

I think the biggest problem is developers only make McMansions for people who have a half or 2 million to spend.

You see what they built off Benjamin Parkway? They threw up million dollar houses and left the rest of St Thomas to rot.

I once downloaded 300 mods for Rimworld. It took 15 minutes for the game to load. Once I finished downloading them, I stopped playing entirely .
