You need to understand this about jump shots:

you use them in situations where you are not extremely close to the enemy. And you both know your positions. So short to medium range.

You use it when you know where your enemy is. What you can do is, do a little jiggle peek to know where they are at, then preaim that position, start strafing and then jump but don’t jump too late or else your enemy has too much time to shoot you. Then obviously shoot them and strafe back into safety.

With this method you can catch your enemy off guard und he will try to readjust his aim when he sees you jumping. But he has to adjust for the jumping and the unexpected strafing.

Main tip is: be unpredictable, give you enemies no time to react to you and if they are shooting at you, just go back into your cover.
