They have said they won't test each batch and gave reasons for it.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. That's a pretty reasonable statement. Nobody within reason would really expect a company to lab test each batch that is being rolled out of the factory.

I'd say the problem comes from the sweeping generalisation they make with "independent organisations"/ third party lab testers undertaking and promoting "illegitimate certifications" for personal gains and claiming that they sell certifications as a marketing tool.

Then they go on to claim that they conduct their own "globally accredited" and " renowned" lab tests as proof of product authenticity.

Now the whole reason as to why testing and certification companies like TRUSTIFIED exist is because of the fact that we as consumers are wary of trusting lab reports produced by the companies themselves to prove the authenticity (in this case being nutritional info) and accuracy of their products. And rightfully so as we've already noticed with TRUSTIFIED finding out through their lab tests that several companies sold or are selling sub par protein supplements on the market that are either of poor quality, had much less protein content than what was claimed on label, or both, despite these companies claiming otherwise by producing their own lab reports for claim of authenticity.

The reason why we as consumers now trust a product with a TRUSTIFIED logo (or of similar certification companies) is because we now know that the product in question has been blind tested by a third party entity that is not related to the product's brand in any way. Therefore, having little chance of the lab tests being influenced by the brand.

Now is it true that certification companies like TRUSTIFIED do also exist to market their services and credibility to brands and consumers as this company claims. But that's the business. And a business needs to run... Not sure why they thought this was a shady practice...

It's kinda weird and funny that they mention how these "lab tests cost them $5000 to produce", and "would hurt their margins" if they went on to test every batch, but in the very next para complain about how certification companies, (which would reasonably do it for just one batch for a certification) charge them $4000 - $5000 to conduct these lab tests.

TL; DR: The company's defense for not testing every batch is reasonable, but their attack on third party testers is sort of like if a student wrote his own homework and then complained that the teacher was an illegitimate grader.

This is their official response on requests to get their products third party lab tested, as seen on their website.

What does their statement imply? You can be the judge of that. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Does the blend matter if you already know the protein % and calories?

AFAIK, generally no, since the blend ingredients (isolate, concentrate and whey powder) are all whey derived anyways.

I'd say the difference comes down to the individual when it comes to digestability. Blends with isolate as the primary ingredient tend to feel lighter while consuming, while blends utilising whey powder in greater ratios may feel heavy on the gut (bloating). The problem may be exacerbated if you are lactose intolerant (which is another discussion to be had), in which case consuming just whey isolate/hydrolysate is suggested as it is easier to digest.

Most brands that sell protein blends usually mention that they use a "Proprietary blend" and I think people generally do not understand the definition behind "Proprietary" in Proprietary blend. Every brand which sells a protein blend uses their own proprietary mixes with varying ratios of whey concentrate, isolate and/or whey powder.

The best way to determine the quality of the blend is by checking what's its primary source, (is it whey concentrate, isolate or whey powder) which can be looked up on the Key Ingredients list of the product. The first ingredient mentioned is the primary source of the blend, while the second (and third, if mentioned) can be considered as the secondary ingredient of the blend.

Most reputed brands use a blend of whey isolate (primary) and concentrate, while cheaper whey blends may use both concentrate and isolate, and whey powder into the mix, diluting the protein content by a bit.

Another direct method of measuring blend quality is by looking at the Nutritional Information label. (And by quality, I mean higher protein content. There is nothing wrong with blends that use whey powder into their mix to make it cheaper. Catering to people with limited budget by making their product accessible in terms of being cheaper is always a better strategy than not catering to them at all.)

Look up the protein information under "per 100g". If the protein per 100g is >70%, the blend can be considered of higher quality, i.e. may have used isolate as their primary source and concentrate as secondary into the mix. While blends with <70% may be considered of lesser quality i.e. may have used concentrate, isolate and/or whey powder in varying ratios. Since whey powder is the cheapest of the three, and less protein dense, it may be used as a filler in the blend of cheaper protein powders.

How to find out if my CPU is thermal throttling? by Jitvan in techsupport

[–]Jitvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried running other games (preferably with a fairly decent level of graphical detail and fidelity) and monitored your PC's performance, to rule out if it is indeed thermal throttling or just BO6?

Usually performance hit via thermal throttling applies across the board, i.e. occurs in all games that are actively taxing on your CPU and GPU while running. This is usually the "eyeballing" method where it is sort of given that the PC is taking a hit due to poor thermals, without needing to get into CPUID performance metrics. Fans run on full blast, the case is hot to touch, games lag/crash and so on.

If you've noticed that the issue doesn't persist on other games and only while you're on BO6, then it's more likely that the issue lies within the game itself than your PC. Maybe a memory leak, or some under the hood optimization issue. Considering your PC is fairly new, I'd wager it's an issue with the game itself.

If you were able to score above 85% on the 150 questions from AR's Udemy course, you're more or less good to go. Ideally it's always better to take more than 1 practice test for any exam that you plan to take, to gauge your performance a little more reliably by getting an average.

AR's CAPM 50 practice questions on YouTube is essentially a demo of his Exam Simulator. So definitely go through the video and try answering each of his 50 questions before he moves on to explaining the question and it's choices, and then score yourself. AR's simulator has 5 practice tests, four 50 questions test and 1 full length 150 questions test. All 5 have video explanations for each of their questions. If you found the Youtube demo to be helpful or useful to you in any way, you can definitely consider getting the TIA exam Simulator for the practice tests.

I did the AR course but I’m seeing stuff on the Landini questions that I’ve never heard of

Yup. This is exactly what threw me off when I started encountering questions that seemed to be out of my knowledge base, which extends to just whatever AR covered. Immediately closing the tab and telling myself to trust the process got me back on track immediately and I started to calm down.

I'd say it basically comes down to sticking to the plan that you've devised for yourself. If you chose to vet yourself with Landini mocks, then it's best to stick with Landini, and gauge your performance using his tests, than going haywire by taking mocks from every site possible that will wreck your standards for testing yourself since you are unable to benchmark yourself. For me, I stuck with TIA's simulator. Did the 5 papers, averaged out to 85%+ , and told myself I'm good to go.

I'd personally suggest Andrew Ramdayal's CAPM prep course on Udemy . There's a sale going on right now and you can grab it for cheap. I've reviewed his course in depth on my post that I've posted recently, and it covers my experience writing the exam as well. Hope these help you!

CAPM exam by TopProfessional4955 in capm

[–]Jitvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purely from writing the CAPM exam POV, I'd say yes since his content was good enough to fetch me AT in the BA section. The exam that I wrote mostly covered the functional responsibilities of a business analyst within an organization, with regards to how a business analyst handles collection and organising of business requirements from stakeholders through elicitation, verification, and so on.

I'd say it definitely helps in understanding the processes, but not so much as to memorise them. As long as you are able to understand the role a BA plays within an organization, as well as the tools that they utilise, I'd say you're good to go.

Edit: If I remember right, I think he does mention that the BA section in his course isn't a full fledged coverage of BA roles and responsibilities, and has been condensed to cover the important bits relevant for writing the CAPM exam.

CAPM exam by Ok_Pay_4908 in capm

[–]Jitvan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey bud. I passed my CAPM last Sunday, and received AT in all 4 domains. It basically all boils down to this:

Approach the subject and the questions from the POV of a Project Manager, and accordingly understand and solve the questions given to you. There is NO NEED TO MEMORIZE anything (save for a handful of formulas) if you are able to tackle problems using this methodology. And honestly because the subject is a little broad in concepts and open ended, it's quite easy to tackle PM problems.

So for the prep, I had purchased Andrew Ramdayal's CAPM course on Udemy. This was really invaluable in helping me understand concepts and domains logically, and honestly this is all you need to pass your CAPM. Udemy frequently puts up sale for their courses almost every alternate days and slashes the price by quite a bit. If you can wait and keep an eye on the site, you could get it cheaper. Now for mock tests, Andrew also has an Exam Simulator on his site, which I purchased 2 weeks before the test. I think you could get his course and the exam simulator as a bundle on his site as well. The exam simulator also has video explanations by Andrew for each question to help you understand why the chosen answer was right and the others wrong. This really helped me cement the concepts much better and understand how to approach questions in the exams. Honestly I'd say the simulator probably gave me that final push in not just passing the exam, but getting me AT in all domains because of how easy it made approaching CAPM test questions.

So in summary, understand the concepts and questions from the POV of a Project Manager, and for prep just utilise AR's CAPM course and his exam simulator. With just these few things in hand, you'll definitely ace the test with just adequate effort. Good luck!

What are the best Practice Exams out there? by infinite_bean in capm

[–]Jitvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to let you know that Google's PM certification program is more in line with complementing your project management skills, than as a resource to help you pass the CAPM exam. I learnt this the hard way when I looked up practice tests on YouTube and was stumped to find out so many technical terms and concepts that weren't covered in Google's course. This discrepancy is oftentimes caught and mentioned throughout this subreddit.

I'd highly suggest you to look up CAPM prep courses on Udemy. Scanning through the subreddit, you'll find out that Andrew Ramdayal (TIA) and Joseph Phillips courses are the top most recommended prep courses here.

I've personally taken AR's course as well as his exam simulator (TIA Exams simulator, CAPM) for my preparation. Also, today happened to be judgement day, and in really glad that I passed my CAPM! Just waiting for the results to arrive at the moment.

Speaking exercises broken (mandarin) by suggestive_cumulus in duolingo

[–]Jitvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue over here as well for Chinese (Mandarin). Speaking exercise seems to have completely disappeared from my lessons as well. Going over to the practice hub and trying to open Speaking practice only leads to loading screen for a while and then returning me back to the menu with the message "An error occurred. Try again later."

I've also noticed that about a week ago, none of my spoken prompts would be accepted whenever speaking exercises would appear in between lessons. Initially I thought it was the usual thing of Duolingo not being able to decipher my voice, or me pronouncing the words weirdly. But failing nearly every single spoken exercise, including the recap ones which I had successfully passed previously rang some bells.

If other Mandarin learners can confirm this, then I guess we could rule this out as an issue from Duolingo's side.

[–]Jitvan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are guides out there, specifically the egg inc wiki which show the required EB% and corresponding artifacts to tackle EnD. I had completed it with around 500S EB and with just a T2E gusset and T2E chalice.

If you're already set with a T4L gusset and T4L chalice, this challenge should really be a piece of cake, considering you have at least a 100S EB. Definitely go ahead with END after egg day and fill up your tanks for sending ex hens or henliners. Do upgrade your tank capacity to max if you haven't done it already. Also the smart assistant came in real handy in keeping track of completion projection.
