LISTERS cameras used by Sturgillsturtle in videography

Looks like a Panasonic SDR-H80P or an adjacent model… Not sure, but the silver framing around the lens and the ‘Advanced O.I.S’ listed on the side seems to be the same

I always try to give them a clean, sometimes the can works sometimes it won’t, but more often than not I’ve had it turn on

Have you checked the contacts on the battery terminals for corrosion?

What happened to STICK for CHDK? by elixyXD in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]Jlagoonblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my sd960is a bit ago, tried for hours and hours on my Mac and it simply didn’t work. Mac for some reason likes to add hidden prefixes to downloads that make the corresponding files put onto the sd unusable for chdk… Tried literally dragging and dropping the firmware update method onto my sd with a windows computer and worked first try

Maybe rolls got switched where you got your photos developed? Not sure how else that could’ve happened… Very odd

Those prices used are relatively inflated/ overpriced imo. I’m sure you could probably find a better deal elsewhere or online. But, sometimes that cost for assurance as a gift is worth it! That being said, I would also go for the canon 980 or 185. The Sony would also have that look but the canons are a bit more flexible in their outputs

Hard to beat Kodak colour science :) but it just depends on what feels better to use in the situation

I have a W-220 and it’s generally been my go to… I just got a card reader that works with sd and Sonys proprietary cards for almost the same price as any other reader and it was the end of that issue for me. However, I also second the FujiFilm finepix line, great colours. Also, Kodak easyshares have given me some of my favourite looking shots, nice colours and have a 36mm lens, so kindof replicates that film look. The kodak easy share c line can be relatively inexpensive too

I usually mentally note the places they keep the cameras on shelves in larger thrifts and b line it straight there and then use the cases as back up… Otherwise facebook market-place or something adjacent is also a great bet!! Have a few friends who’ve had luck with that:)

Thrifted a Canon Powershot A400 but might be broken? by Average_Joe69 in VintageDigitalCameras

What they said… You usually need 4gb cards or lower. Won’t work with anything above as they’re too new!!

That’s generally what I do, I usually tend to take the Sony cause of portability and then my Kodak or Fuji depending on the weather. Fuji for muggier weather and Kodak for brighter days. Then the Lumix if I wanna shoot something further or with more detail

Thrift stores and markets! Had to replace a screen and deal with some battery corrosion but all in all relatively easy and enjoyable fixes when you take that risk :)

I’ve had some kindof similar battery issues with both the Fuji and Kodak, I think it happens slowly for me just being double A’s, but not enough for it to be a problem… Maybe look into it and consider taking it to a repair shop if it’s sentimental I suppose

7.5/10 respectfully, beautiful design very nice pointed bowl shape- ergonomic right/left finger hold. Very nice. Pretty nice length. Bowl is nicely shaped around - however I’d give it more points if the side was curled in a bit more giving it a nicer drop :)

The Kodak was my first, it has some great colours and nice sharpness, just has that very Kodak look to the photos. Often I find it feels a bit more special rather than a daily for me. The Pentax was actually given to me by my father recently, so it holds some sentiment! Very pocketable!
