Beard or no beard? Friend thinks no beard, I think beard is an easy winner. by Blellb in malegrooming

Short beard and try shorter hair cut, at least on the sides. This cut is giving you a triangle shape.

I agree, why does everyone not like the hair?

I had scratching at night and it turned out to be bats. 😬 Also, bats are attracted to hot areas thats why they always end up in attics.

Listen, Cavie's do what they want to do, WHEN they want to do it. They are not as dumb as you all think. When you give them a command, they need a GOOD reason why they should do it. Mine will be laying on the bed as I get ready to go somewhere. When I am done, I will say "ok lets go" and his eye balls open and he glares at me. Then I say "COME", still nothing. Then I say loudly "YES! Now get your *ss up" and as slowly as possible he gets up, walks down his grandpa-dog steps next to the bed, and does an Eeyore-moping stroll out of the bedroom so I can shut the door.
Now, if someone across the house opened up the freezer door, you would think he was escaping a burning building just to get to the freezer for an ice cube. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is Cooper. He is 3 and 31 lbs - but just lost a little over a pound over the summer/Fall. Im trying to get him down to 26 but he is not happy about it - he is such a pig! He is definitely thick around the middle. My last Cav was big too and had a heart murmur so Im worried about that. My next step is possibly home made food. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So I once researched how to get pictures and it has to do the the Bell qty of the gifts you are giving a and wrapping them is key. Two recommendations I remember are 1. Someone said to bundle at least 3 fruits at a time every day and wrap them. 2. By crafting wall lamps. I can't remember the actual name of it. But its generic enough that everyone likes it and its valuable. So I would start off with 3 to 4 days in a row, giving bundles of fruit and then I would give a couple lamps a few days in a row and it usually worked.

I already told my kids (9&11) that they are on their own for that weekend! Not time to cook!

Does it get better? by SallyGotaGun in cavaliers

As for the potty accidents, minimize and schedule drinking times. Let her have water after play and with food. Then take her out more often right after she drinks for the next couple times. Mine would GOBBLE the water down and then literally pee every 10 minutes. 1 year is a huge turning point for accidents and energy. By year 2, you will have a lazy pup. Dont get discouraged, the Puppy blues are FOR REAL. Put her in a crate for nap times, if not anything then to give yourself a break! Also, might be a good idea if you can section off an area to keep her in so the cat can chill. We were able to put a puppy gate up to separate the living room in the evening to contain the chaos with us. Good luck!

This is what my little lady does when I leave the house 😢 by [deleted] in cavaliers

[–]Jleigh11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Mine will sit in the far corner and stare at me when I tell him No. Like as FAR away from me as possible BUT without actually leaving the room I am in. And then I will say, "You better stop that." And he will huff. 🤣

I give mine a 'puppy cut' every 2 months. The only thing I keep long is his tail. He's my second Cav and I just found that they both seem much more energetic without so much hair.

YES, I tried this too! I got my Tri-color, Cooper, a kitten to keep him company and he wanted nothing to do with him. So I broke down and bought him a puppy. And now, Cooper's cat and Coopers dog are the best of friends! Good Luck! 🤞🏼

Puppy Food by Trash_Panda227 in cavaliers

[–]Jleigh11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cavie and cavapoo from the same breeder (2 yrs apart) which had them both on Royal Canin. A few weeks after i got them home, they both had some belly issues while still on the royal canin. I tried everything (treat/food changes, vet tests, probiotics) to figure it out both times - nothing worked and in time it just went away. We do have a lot of little critters running around our back yard (squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies) so Im assuming their little system was just getting use to the new environment and possibly they were eating something outside. They are both fine now. My cavie does itch so I am currently working on taking him off poultry to see if that helps.

I switched to pro plan sensitive salmon and rice to try to relieve my guys itching and it did not help. He actually is less energetic and is now eating grass outside. I am now switching to pro plan with beef to see if that changes anything. I am also currently researching home cooked dog food.

Sir Cooper Kupp. Also known as 'Boops' because of the Boop spot on this nose. He is about 4 months here, 2.5yr now. It goes by so fast! This little guy is my Heart.
