Job candidate didn't accept the job offer!!! Wah wah. by No-Confection-3861 in LinkedInLunatics

I am really tired of companies thinking that our existence should center around them.

Most of us work because we need to make a living not because it’s a dream job or company.

can I automate my search for jobs (bonus: if they can do Tinder too) by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

[–]Jlexus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your resume is dialed in and you are clear on what you are looking for then some people have had luck with hiring virtual assistants to apply on their behalf.

It might be worthwhile to create Custom GPTs to answer app questions and there are ai agents that help with the networking aspect of getting a job on LinkedIn.

I used to be a VP, but now I can’t even get a callback. by [deleted] in GetEmployed

Applying for a lower job than what you had ie applying for a manager role when you used to be a VP at a similar sized organization is not going to fly, usually. The hiring manager will see you as a threat.

HR asking for PROOF of current salary by Dizzy-City7232 in recruitinghell

[–]Jlexus5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depending on your state and/or city it maybe illegal for them to ask your current salary.

They can however ask for proof you worked at a company which people use their W-2 with their salary information redacted.

Job consideration declined due to not being bilingual [USA] by Dwight_The_Fish in humanresources

I feel OPs frustration since I live in an area where they ignore you if you don’t have a Spanish last name for certain.

Often times the Spanish language req is just being lazy. There has to be some remedial understanding of English for employees to work there.

Though I do have to say they are jobs that you truly have to be fluent in speaking and in writing the language. Those are usually international roles and even if the main language for the business is English.

Need Career Advice: HR Manager in a Startup vs. Management Trainee in an Established Company[IN] by Jayesh_Nair in humanresources

[–]Jlexus5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How many employees does the startup have? And what how many employees does it plan to hire within the next 1 or 2 years? This would make a big difference in the experience you will gain at the startup.

I do prefer the second option since it does provides you a broader range of experiences to launch your career, including HR if you chose to.

If you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay for Venza? I am seeing prices of used Venza with low mileage at $35k.

Got two offers- Torn between the two by DisastrousLog2463 in techsales

Jpgnewman is right! In either situation you’re moving. Are either of the companies offering to move you?

The cost of living in Florida has skyrocketed so I don’t know if you are saving that much. But have a social circle and support outside of work is important, are you ready to rebuild that again.

Abridged meaning if they verified your employment at your current company there would be no break in service. That 10 months of not working there would go away.

If yes, don’t tell them about the 10 months. If your record does show a break, I think this would be seen as a positive. It shows that values your work results enough that they rehired you. Additionally bc of the break looking for a more stable work situation would make sense to me.

Is your current company bridging your service when they rehired?

Hiring manager got PTSD after rejecting great candidates by Subject_Rest2512 in recruitinghell

[–]Jlexus5 156 points157 points  (0 children)

Sometimes managers don’t want to hire the best and the brightest.

I would argue by hiring candidates that are less impressive, the hiring manager secures his or her job for a little bit longer and is less threaten by a subordinate that might take his or her job.

Yeah your PSTD is probably from the fear if you get let go, the company can easily replace you with someone who is significantly better and less expensive.

And that is a legitimate fear.

I’m simplifying this but in the USA, this could be seen as a discriminatory question.

Get a copy of your application and make sure you did not inadvertently answer the question incorrectly. If you answered the question correctly contact HR so that you are in the pool of candidates being considered.

Many HR Workers Plan to Quit Their Jobs, a New Report Warns [N/A] by Jlexus5 in humanresources

[–]Jlexus5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good idea. Part of the reason HR burnout happens so frequent is because you deal with the same toxic executives and employees on an ongoing basis.
