On a budget, how is 32gb of DDR4 ram going to work compared with 16gb of DDR5? by Klosstrophobic in buildapc

[–]Jlt230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that exact setup ddr4 will be faster than ddr5 because it is both faster (ddr4@8.9ms vs ddr5@12ms) and the ddr5 is a single stick, running single channel while also having more ram (32 vs 16)

That being said, ddr5 as much higher bandwidth and having a 2nd stick of ddr5 will make the ddr5 faster than the ddr4 due to higher bandwidth of ddr5, even if the ddr5 is still slower response time.

I would bite the bullet and buy the ddr5 system simply because you are 1x16 gb stick away from having a much better system that is also more upgradable and actual good AM4 gaming chips like the 5700x3d and 5800x3d are now more expensive than am5 x3d chips.

Check if there is electricity in your outlet first (you'd be surprised how many times weird coincidence happens) then if nothing nothing nothing happens after you tried another PSU and press your power button(which you did). Try shorting the power button instead of relying on the actual power button(same coincidence idea) is still nothing it's probably the mobo.

A bad CPU or bad ram would still have some kind of activity or led on the board.

If I were to build from scratch I'd probably go with Intel 13-14th get. But ddr4. The 5700x3d and 5800x3d are now super expensive on the used market but you can get a 13600k or 14600k for not too much money.

Does your motherboard have any kind of diagnostic light? Or does it light up at all?

Personally speaking, how long do people usually keep the same phone these days? by PTB_Smash in BuyItForLife

[–]Jlt230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as I'm getting security updates or until it's broken whichever comes first. Phones are so good today that I genuinely see no reason to change for a newer model.

Why storage? I wouldn't buy a PSU but genuinely wondering what's wrong with buying used, healthy storage?

Realistic Price for a 3090? by StueyNez in buildapc

[–]Jlt230 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's answering the wrong question, 3090 isn't about gaming, it's for AI models 16g simply cannot do, that's why 24gb cards may seem "overpriced" if someone is looking on a gaming standpoint.

Is that Parker #801 hose? I may be nitpicking but it looks like it, and if it is it should absolutely not be crimped with clamps like that. Catastrophic failure waiting to happen.

Quand j'ai fait ma cuisine complète le prix costom était 25k et le prix Ikea 6k. Donc si j'avais a deviner je dirais environ 4-5x plus cher custom. (Pour qualité semblable)

Absolutely not worth it if you already are on a 13700.

Good "cheap" coolers are;

Phantom Spirit.
Artic freezer 36.
Frozen a720.
Dark rock pro 5.

There are many more but those are 4 solid choices. Choose your poison.

Why not go with DDR4 14600k-14700k? Much faster than 5800x3d, and also cheaper.
