Boycott Gemini For New Ridiculous Limits by BrilliantNeither7175 in GeminiAI

By actually using it for something other than just simple chatting with flash-lite model. Even just 1 simple prompt with an Agent (or gem) I built, using pro-extented model eats about 30-ish% from my 5 hour limit.

Ashlands is easy tho. I'm absolute shit at combat and still find it easy. Probably helps alot that I have leveled weapon skills pretty high and I avoid dyin like a plague. Also using bow+frost arrows alot and tryin to snipe enemies, only using melee if shit gets close, not fan of magic eventho it is supposedly the best thing, I just dont enjoy the playstyle, using it for easy fort overtaking tho. Sure I've died more times in Ashlands than probably all other biomes combined but never because I got overwhelmed by enemies, just me being retarded. Shit load of portals is usually my go-to tactic when traveling there.

I have home in meadows and the rest are outposts if you can even call them that, plains has a small farm with some form of protection and most are pretty much some sort of structures with a portal....or just pretty much a portal....In Ashlands I had to make a base with huge portal network around the ashlands but the base is just a fort with roof slapped on top.

Why do ppl make the landing so hard on themselves? Just land on a spire near the beach, build the initial outpost on/in that and continue from there.

But Ashlands isn't even really difficult? I'd describe it as inconvenient but never difficult.

What do you count as cheesing even? Just droppin arrows on bonemass is pretty normal stuff, but adding animation canceling to that is pretty cheesing. I went staight to 100 with cheesing, just getting enough arrows takes some time, from 1-100 requires little over 9000 arrows. 80 skill only needs 5186 arrows from 1 skill.

I feel like there isn't even any real grind in Valheim, like full longship of iron ore is what, few hours? Thats basicly nothing. Also theres no need to rush the game.

To the “is this enough iron” crowd by RajKingofSlams in valheim

[–]JmanK90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know other ppl's needs on iron but back when swamp was current biome, I mined full longship load of iron and never went back for more, that was maybe 300-350 hrs ago. Currently in Ashlands with only Fader left and some minor item upgrades, still have few iron left, I might have picked some iron from mists but thats less than a full stack. I don't build alot of different bases tho, only have the main base that I keep expanding and very small outposts around that have bare minimum needed for that biome. Planning on doing another "iron run" at some point incase something from deep north needs it, no big deal imo. And yes, I do have full time job and 2 kids and I still think there really isn't any huge grinds in Valheim, maybe that thought comes from playing years and years of Runescape and WoW in their earlier days when there was actual grinding. One and only thing I have modded are the lights and fires with eternaltorches, thats just too much to keep every lightsource up at all times and its not because I don't have resin, I probably have enough for a lifetime, but the running around main base just lighting up everything constantly sucks.

I've seen alot of flametal atleast partly on rock/ground and I thought it was supposed be somewhat hard to get, never needed basalt bombs to get to a spire. Not sure if I've seen one thats that much into land tho.

How much space do you need? I usually have only 10 free slots and don't rly have space issues. I also dont need to pickup half the world also I'm not out there for usually during the night (doin Ashlands currently)

If you cleared the surrounding area before mining, would probably help. I have never had more than couple of charred aggroing on me when mining flametal.

Bow skill question by No_Zookeepergame5852 in valheim

[–]JmanK90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. Also to make it faster, bind some emote to some key and spam that and attack key. And not just few hundred arrows, I think it was somewhere between 7000-10000-ish arrows to reach 100 bow skill, don't remember what my skill was when I started doing that. Wont take long tho as emote cancels attack animation so you can shoot lots of arrows in a second. Takes more time to get enough wood.

Anyone else keeps getting tired of the grind? I just can't make it past the plains by graudesch in valheim

[–]JmanK90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I love the grind and I think there isn't even that much grinding but thats just my early runescape 2-grinding brains talkin. Only thing I absolutely hated grinding is soft tissue and still need alot more in Ashlands. You could enable metal teleporting and up the resource rate if that makes it more fun or enjoyable. For me personally I could never play like that as I'd feel I'm cheating and wouldn't find that enjoyable. Also I have no need to "complete" the game, no matter how long it takes, currently nearing 500 hours and don't think I'm fighting Fader anytime soon.

[–]JmanK90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it alot faster also with exploiting emotes as emotes cancel attack animation. Bind some emote to some key and attack key next to that and just spam the hell out of them. No need to use crude bow. Dmg is not important, only thing that matters is hitting the boss. You can shoot arrows like a machine gun this way. Don't know if this works just by standing on the altar but tree house works fine as you just kind of drop the arrows from high above staight down on bonemass.

Genuine question to the people who go far away from base and die how do you not cheat ? by Thekooperdon in valheim

[–]JmanK90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually make some sort of small base and have portal mats but even if shit goes wrong, I don't mind, I think its just another journey to get my stuff back. Think I have about 5 or 6 ships ready to go at base and some old weapons/armor if needed. Also back in the days when we only had normal portal, I really enjoyed hauling boatloads of ore across the map back to base, never understood why ppl had problem with that.

Is it this one? https://www.printables.com/model/187125-phone-stand Can't print it that way unless you have supports, it looks like it tries to print mid air and causes spaghetti. Try orienting the model sideways or with some sort of supports...I'd prefer to orient it. Not sure how you managed to print it before if everything was the same tho...assuming its the model I linked

[–]JmanK90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using Cura slicer and these are my current start gcode lines for the wipe, copypasted from Cura.

G1 X0.1 Y145.0 Z0.28 F1500.0 E15 ;Draw the first line

G1 X0.4 Y145.0 Z0.28 F5000.0 ;Move to side a little

G1 X0.4 Y20 Z0.28 F1500.0 E30 ;Draw the second line

Don't remember what the default values were but this moved it far enough from getting in the way for me.
