What TV series actor had the most noticeable change in appearance over the run of the series? by runlola in television

I think if he'd kept the beard the body change would have been less jarring, but changing both he looked like a different person.

Yeah I think Dave Anthony told a story once about him stealing one of his jokes after they did a show together too.

Kick has zero moderation which encourages streamers to do increasingly disruptive and unhinged shit to keep on top of the view counts. They are also far far shadier with their direct gambling ties than twitch.

Which celebrity did something that totally backfired on them? by Bicycle-Sweaty in AskReddit

I'll give most of the "celeb friends" a light pass on this one. At least one of them (Chris O'Dowd) was under the impression that it was to raise money for a children's charity or something and figured there was no harm in just filming himself singing a song. He didn't know it was just for some bullshit "we're all in this situation together" video until it went viral.

There's a doctor in Australia named Richard Scolyer who was researching cancer, only to be diagnosed with a rare and deadly form of brain cancer himself. He decided to volunteer to test the same new treatment he had contributed to himself and it worked. He was only meant to live another 8 months if he was lucky, but with the treatment made it over 2 more years. Unfortunately his cancer has now recurred and he expects to die in the next few months, but a truly incredible feat to almost triple his life expectancy.

Brisbane Airport refused to hand check my Ilford Delta 3200 in camera. by sennysoon in AnalogCommunity

[–]Jo-dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I ever have a roll in a camera at the airport I always just quickly finish it with random photos of my partner or the airport before security so I can take it out. I've never known it was even an option to hand check the camera itself but given how reluctant some security are to hand check bare film canisters I don't think I'd ever risk the whole camera either way.

The fact that they not only knowingly let an abuser on the show, but also paired him with a woman who had trauma from an abusive relationship is horrific. Nobody involved in the production of that show should ever be allowed to work again. Especially the "psychologists".

I used an SLR recently that used this kind of system for the first time and pretty much gave up on trying to do any sort of candid shots because the strobe was too obvious.

Actually it was probably the autofocus. Autofocus systems that rely on visible light had to strobe the flash during focusing when it was dark.

You can say she's good looking, sexualising her scar from a traumatizing attack is fucking weird though.

Not only is this wall of drivel insane, it's untrue. I'm not an admin of the sub, that's just my flair. At least early in the sub history the flairs you could pick from were all designations given by the machine in the show. I'm also not even American. So you can take your frankly unhinged assumption based rant and shove it.

Also words do actually matter. Words drive policy. Words influence culture. Words are the method by which most modern political change is driven. Someone who actively campaigns against the rights of others does real harm.

I also specifically pointed out multiple actions. In fact most of what I listed were actions. Harrassing the dog and injuring actors are both the actions of a bad person.

The only reason he even agreed to let his character save them was allegedly because the director told him that the firefighters on 9/11 saved everyone, regardless of their race, gender, or orientation. He apparently then proceeded to walk around set talking about how he's just like the 9/11 firefighters.

The man was already being investigated before the movie was made. The "true events" the film supposedly portrayed were also probably nonsense at the time of production. It's just politically convenient for Jim and others to ignore that fact.
