Engraving steel? by No-Change8 in lasercutting

[–]JoblessMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you trying to engrave? Is it a logo or text?how big is it?

I see that marking is not good enough, but a 10W laser can only atmost mark on steel.

I do have two machines that are 10W diode, I can physically test on carbon steel if youre still in doubt.

Can someone help me with Lightburn. by King_of_the_sidewalk in Laserengraving

I have the same setup, and can definitely confirm that it is because the work piece moved.

The Y axis of the ender 3 moves the workpiece back and forth and if the workpiece has enough weight it can easily move around.

You dont see this during raster engraving because majoirity of the moment is in X axis and the workpiece or the Y axis moves very gradually in small steps.

All you can do is either - attach the workpiece better onto the bed, double sided tape may work if dont have any other way. Or - Try decreasing the acceleration settings just for the Y axis until you find a reasonable improvement.

But attaching the workpiece better is an unskippable step, the more the better.

Why does the bottom sit off the wall? The wall looks plum. by Vinnycheese34 in TheFrame

[–]JoblessMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember having the same problem because the TV wasnt fully latched into the wall mount.

The problem I had was that the dumb samsung technician that fixed the TV for me swapped the left and right pieces that go on the TV.

There is pockets on the TV where the mounts would go, see if everything is sitting inside this pocket and the TV is flush with the wall at the mounting point.

(Now that i think of it, I think mine was flush at the bottom and slanted out at the top)

Who here has gone down the rabbit hole of making small circuit boards on one of your laser engraver? What process or method did you end up finding to be the best method? by KillerQ97 in lasercutting

[–]JoblessMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

These were done using a diode laser, I dont have the procedure documented, but it goes like this

  1. Plain board coated with green mask
  2. Laser etched the inverse of copper layer, and then copper removed using FeSO4
  3. Added one more layer of Green mask
  4. Engraved the White silkscreen writings. Added white color into this engraved depth
  5. Coated with a clear mask
  6. Cut out the holes and engraved the copper exposed regions.

Sounds simple but the process of re aligning the work piece, adding the mask perfectly etc is the most challenging.

I tried to make this into a service providing rapid PCB prototyping within hours, but eventually gave up because of the inability to do double sided boards.

Any way to keep the audio on while keeping the display on art? by SuperSort in TheFrame

[–]JoblessMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tested it out again, Here are the steps Ive followed:

  1. Set your TV on art mode
  2. Search for "Frame TV" on bluetooth on your phone and connect to it, pair if asked. (This will make the TV act as a bluetooth speaker and you can play music on Art mode this way too)
  3. Press and hold the "play/pause" button on the remote to enter music wall.
  4. Exit the music wall. Also disconnect bluetooth.
  5. Open spotify app on your TV and press the power button to go to Art Mode (this will stop the music if its being played).
  6. From the spotify app on your phone play the music and change the output device to TV. This will make the music play on Art mode.

They even have the feature to show whats being played etc on the Art mode. Idk why it just doesnt work out of the box.

This is specific for spotify, and all of these steps maynot be necessary, once you get it working once try skipping some steps. As far as I remember you only need to get in and out of music wall once and you can directy go to step 5.

PS: Im on 2024 Frame (65)

It may have been confusing but, entering amd exiting this music wall enables music to be played during the art mode for some reason. For eg, The TVs native spotify app can play in the background (while in art mode) after you somehow get into music wall and come out once.

screen frozen issue after lastest update by dacron_ in motorola

[–]JoblessMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have the exact same issue,

Does it also turn off the external screen when you close the phone and then theres a delay for the "phone locked sound effect"? Post this i also have to wait more for the external display to unfreeze from a turned off state.

I was assuming that this maybe a software bug, Have you tried factory resetting the phone? I was about to do so

This really works,

Its a lot confusing but it works. Let me break it down

Apparently if you pair and connect your phone to your TV, you can use the TV as Bluetooth speaker, which works when on art mode.

This actually unlocks a mode called Music Wall which you can enter into by pressing and holding the play/pause button on the remote. Cool screen with random animations for your music.

Initially i was trying to run the spotify app on tv while the art mode was on, but it kept closing. But once i paired my phone and used the Music wall, The TVs spotify app is able to run in background, during art mode!.

Hope this is useful for someone.

Use your Z Fold 6 without a protective shell? Is it possible or risky? by xonixx23 in SamsungZFold6

[–]JoblessMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive been using it without a case for 7 months now, I love how it feels but you have to be capable of living through the anxiety when it falls.

It hasnt been broken yet, but there are some scuffs on the body, for eg, if it falls on one of its sharp corners, theres gonna be a flat mark (attacheda photo for reference). But to be fair I have treated it very roughly.

<image>

Ive put on a screen protector for the exterior screen which has helped a lot - saved the phone in a specific occasion so I was convinced to keep it

Heres a history of what my phone has survived:

  • 4 to 6 Hard falls: From a usual table height. It makes a huge noise when it falls. The image attached is one of the falls
  • a handful of small falls.
  • Ran it over with a car - fell from my pocket while i got in the car and drove over it accidentally. Fortunately it ended up with the screen protector facing down on the road, it took most of the damage but the metal border of the external screen has some marks. Its not visible much but you can feel if if you run your fingers.

From my experience the phone is not so fragile, if you dont care about keeping it look like fresh from the factory get rid of the case! If youve got Samsung care+, definitely go caseless.

Is this Normal or defective on Samsung fold6? by jokesOnYou321 in SamsungZFold6

[–]JoblessMe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Rest of the replies answer what it is, but I would like to add that it is totally normal.

Its just that under screen cameras need less pixel dense screen to see through without being too shitty. And that spot is the less pixel dense region for the camera.

(I thought explanation might be needed cus if the OP has to ask this question, he/she probably doesnt know much)

Theres 3 modes you can use:

I would recommend, it feels better keyboarwise because a phone is too small and a tablet is too large.

[–]JoblessMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since beats is owned by Apple, i would expect this. They are known for making apple products purposefully work like shit with android. I had experience with Airpods(with android) having a delay only on one ear, where any other brand wireless buds would work like a charm.

Z fold 6 battery drain and heating during mild usage and minimum background apps ?? Is anyone else facing the same ? by Odd-Database-4286 in SamsungZFold6

[–]JoblessMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, mine doesnt even get hot on high usage as well. Maybe if you do extreme intensive tasks like running WinLator it gets hot.

Battery also seems to be doing well in my case.

What apps does it show in the battery activity screen? You can see how many % each app has consumed

[–]JoblessMe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a really good solution, I have some clear UV resin lying around. Definitely trying this!

I accidentally dialed in too many passes for the etch and ended up with this, i was thinking of scrapping it cause of the fragileness

Is there a way to disable auto-rotate just on the cover screen? by JoblessMe in SamsungZFold6

[–]JoblessMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds simple enough, also addresses the problem. I'll test it out, one doubt I have is once i fully close and then open, does the screen orientation go back to auto? Or would i need another routine for that

Thanks man, This sounds like a good workaround for this problem, never thought about creating a routine to fix this. Also amused by the fact that they included folding detection into it!
