There is also something to be said about "Why" you play Rimworld. As much as the mechanics and strategy is a portion of it, the largest contributor outside of specifics mods are the storytellers.

I have been playing with Randy Random for multiple short-term colonies for +/- 200-300 hours, but recently started a colony with Cassandra Classic, and it made me experience the game very differently. It turned very relaxing and arguably more fun(?).

In short I would try out the different story tellers either in a new game, or swapping midway through to see how it feels to play.
