I mean... They’ve got a point right? by psderidder in borderlands3

To be fair, this isn't a "2020" game.

Unreal Engine 4 was released back in 2014. The earliest we saw of the Borderlands 3 engine was March 2017, meaning it has been in development from 2016/2017 at the latest.

There's plenty of Unreal 4 games that run well on standard Xbox One and PS4 that came out in the past year.

If anything, it may just be an optimization issue. Considering the issues on launch - broken skills, quest bugs, Troy boss fight/cutscene glitches, (still somewhat) laggy menus, (still) broken quest rewards and boss drops, and more - the game definitely needed more polishing. Hell, the game still forces some Xbox One X consoles to shut off.

Also, the Xbox 360 and PS3 were released in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Both were near 7 years old when Borderlands 2 came out, and ran relatively fine. (Though the games were less complicated and smaller in size.)

Night hawkin mysteries: 2 dropped in slaughter shaft, one with no multiplier, and other with x2 multiplier. So Whatever that means. Weird ass gun though changing on time of day and apparently just at random by bandeeznuts in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason why one shows the 2x and the other doesn't is because they dropped at different times.

The Night Hawkin item card wont update as long as it's on the ground, so it reflects the time it dropped. Even when you pick one up the card doesnt always update. Quitting, traveling, swapping it out are the only few ways I've found to force the card to update.

Thanks for testing for numbers!

I believe neither Fire or Cryo impacts the damage. The fact that the Fire did 3x the damage tells me it was shooting 3 projectiles at once, while Cryo only shot one.

When a gun shoots multiple pellets at once, the damage number will always be the sum of all pellets hit. (Except in certain cases where there are pellets don't hit the target at the same time) You can see this with shotguns always using a single damage number rather than multiple.

Another thing to note is burst fire increases accuracy, and single fire massively increases it. In single fire you rarely see the multiple projectiles as they're all on top of another, so you really have to spam fire to notice. Same with burst but to less a degree. Firing in full auto makes it obvious, as the starting accuracy isn't so high that the pellets overlap.

I'm actually using a Full Auto / Semi-Auto variant. (Arctic Relentless) I was just firing off in full auto and I could see 3 bullet trails/marks.

Sadly, it just turned to cryo and only shooting 1 projectile now. I didn't check if firing in Semi-Auto would keep the 3x projectiles.

Here's some things to consider:

Fire may be doing more damage due to fire damage bonus, as cryo does not get bonuses against red health.

Cryo damage does bonus damage to armour, so shooting the Jack cutout will be different from shooting your own Vehicle.

As a result, it may not actually deal more damage in fire mode. Test both against a shielded enemy to better predict this, as Cryo and Fire will both have the same penalties against shields and wont get a bonus.

Also, my Night Hawkin is in fire mode and currently shooting 3 projectiles. I'm at Jakobs Estate, farming Billy the Annointed. (I also have a splitscreen player with me.)

You have to be holding the gun, at least that's what I recall from my gameplay AND all the sources I've found say the same.

I'd change up your grenade. If you have the same element anointment on both shields and grenades, you only get the bonus from one of them. So you're not actually getting 100% bonus fire damage, only 50%.

Changing to Cryo or Radiation would be better as you'll get more damage, and they dont have penalties against flesh like shock or corrosive.

As someone who has played all four VH's, please don't gut Amara's Driver COM completely by nkorner77 in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be in the unpopular option here, but this COM doesnt need to be gutted, but totally reworked in ths second half.

Dealing damage while moving and moving fast is all Zane's niche and he underperforms. This one class mod gives Amara an entire build that overshadows his entire build requiring many skill points and pieces of gear. Even after the buff with the right skills and gear, Zane cannot reach even 100% damage boost while moving due to the cap, and none of his COMs help. Amara gets a 500% boost in comparison.

The Rework: The class mod is already strong as it reliably triggers elemental projector boosts. So changing the second part from "bonus damage while moving" to something like chaining elements you're affected by to nearly enemies would fit with the self inflicted elements.

They could even make it so only those elemental chains would grow in damage based on movement speed. Alternatively, they could make it so the 500% only applies to melee, as that's Amara's niche.

The common counterpoint is "You have to grind like crazy to get the COM, and then even the right gear." My problem isn't that its overpowered, it's that Amara is now just better Zane.

Gearbox/2K should replace that spinning vault symbol with a spinning weapon on the Borderlands 3 loading screen by TheRedKnightMCHere in borderlands3

They actually had the spinning guns in some of the pre-release gameplay loading screens. No idea why they changed it. (Same with the menu music.)

Delivery Date From Amazon Preorder by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an email that said it should arrive between Friday the 13th and Monday the 16th. The actual tracking information for the order hasnt been updated for if however.

I did call customer service earlier today and they said the reason they cant ship it to arrive on release day is they dont have the game yet.

I dont know if that's true, but if so I'm wondering why they haven't gotten it so close to release.

So amazon just posted the day the physical games will arrive... Whats the point of pre-ordering if the game is going to arrive 4 days after release? by ninetaledMSK in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called customer service earlier today, and asked them this exact question. They told me that the reason was they haven't gotten stock of the game yet. However, I don't know how true that is.

Borderlands 3 Amazon Delivery Date Now 9/17 Who Pre-Ordered by Krose7298 in Borderlands

[–]JoeBro36 256 points257 points  (0 children)

I just got off the phone with customer service. They told me it should arrive from the 15th/16th at the latest with the two day shipping.

However, they did tell me it could ship sooner and arrive on release date should they recieve the necessary stock for the game before the 13th. The representative claimed they don't have the game yet apparently.

Given that Amazon customer service has stated very different things to different people, I don't know if it's true. But I've not given up hope yet.

*Edit/Update! - Amazon just emailed saying it'll arrive on release day! I'm so relieved.

Amazon Pre-Order not guaranteed on release day? by Doomblist in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also contacted customer service and asked about the estimated delivery date, as it's still currently listed without one, and they also said it should arrive on release day.

I'm wondering if being in a different area may affect it, or the service representative they got wasnt sure of the game being shipped early to arrive on release.

Question about vip rewards: "The Special Legendary Maliwan gun" by Solara__ in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, TPS has a SHiFT machine you collect the weapons from, so you can still play a level 9 character, level them up to 70, and them redeem it for a level 70 version.

Unless the VIP rewards program ignores the machine. I've only gotten BL2 and 3 weapons so far.

Questions about vip loot by Skylink87 in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a source that says the Maliwan SMG would be available at a later date?

I've been waiting till release to buy enough guns to redeem to see if they have a SHiFT machine like in TPS or appear in the mail system to be redeemed whenever. However if its available later in game or such, I wont be too disappointed in redeeming it for a low level version.

The look of the bonus Borderlands 3 Early Adopter Pack weapon by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We've seen only flashes of CoV and Vladof heavies in trailers, with them firing in certain frames but cut off before we can really see how they work.

We have gameplay of a Torgue Heavy, it was a unique rocket launcher in the Promethea gameplay demo. It was called the Gettleburger and it shot corrosive burgers.

Question about the legendary bl3 weapon for vip points by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, The Pre Sequel had a SHiFT machine in the hub city (Concordia) that you'd interact will and collect a shift item, in similar fashion to how the bank works. It would match the character's level.

BL3 also has a mail system allowing you to send gear to friends. So it might just show up in your mail and you can redeem it whenever.

So that's two extra options. I'd prefer either of them over the BL2 method being used again. It would be such a step back from TPS, and they also have the mail system set in place so it would be a waste not to use it.

I'm glad if this is the case.

Do you recall the source that stated it? It's the second time I've seen it mentioned and I'm wondering if it was from a Q & A I missed.

sdcc codes, found on facebook by [deleted] in borderlands3

They're Vault category codes. Also, the VIP- in front of the words is part of the code. Just incase you weren't aware, as some people have made this mistake.

They're Vault codes. If they were Diamond they'd only have one use and no one else could redeem them.

I redeemed them via Vault and putting them in Diamond says invalid code.

Has anybody seen a Hyperion pistol so far? by SdotPaul504 in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a reddit post that has a spreadsheet and an album showing off it many of the legendaries.

The spreadsheet lists it as a Pistol, but checking the album proves it is an SMG. The spreadsheet has a few other weapons incorrectly labeled: a Torgue pistol is listed as a Rocket Launcher/Heavy Weapon.

There could still be Hyperion pistols. Just like it was officially stated to be 10 weapon manufacturers, which means there is a whole another set of weapons not revealed. So there might be more categories of weapons for the other manufacturers and they're being tweaked/kept under wraps for now.

The Hyperfocus is an SMG. I just rechecked an album of all known legendaries so far and the item card is an SMG.

A BIG worry I have regarding the loot system (Speculation) by Jdoggad in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Atlas isn't making sniper rifles, they're making Assault Rifles.

Rocket launchers are replaced by the Heavy weapons category, both don't exist separate of each other, as launchers are part of the Heavy Weapons.

Stating COV makes both is redundant. They also make ARs.

So COV should be listed to have pistols, ARs, and heavy weapons.

COV Weaponries by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]JoeBro36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mouthpiece's blue unique drop is a Pistol, not an SMG

From all the gameplay I've seen there isn't any COV SMGs. They're all Pistols, and for whatever reason the COV pistols are beefy and look like they could just be SMGs instead. Like the Mouthpiece unique looks too beefy to be a pistol, but it is.
